With the transfer window opening tomorrow i thought it would be good for our annual transfer rumour thread to make a return for the new season. Like always any rumour you have heard just post it up, if we don't end up signing any of the player's it will at the very least stimulate a bit of banter and who knows we may even have a grin out of it. So even if your grandmothers friends sons daughter works as a cleaner down the liberty and she has seen messi pull up in the liberty stadium car park lets hear about it. Although this is not connected to the Swans, there is a stong rumour going round that Mr Gullible has been kicked out of his commune in Nepal and is currently awaiting deportation. Cheers Mabon
Perhaps we can put this on the top of the forum, and remove the next manager one as that has been sorted. Can you do that Mabon like you did before ?
I did hear a rumour last night and that was our captain (monk)is being loaned out to do his badges to a championship club. He wont be sold as he will be coming back to join the coaching staff. Im not sure but Bristol city was mentioned....
Profits will be down at The Yak and Yeti, if Mr Gullible get's deported. I recon Tarquin grassed him up to the Dali Lama, that he was slipping out for a Yaks milk or two of an evening.
It would make good sense if the rumour is true that is. Tate should be loaned out also with a view of doing his badges so he can come back and join the academy set up when it happens, I think tate can still play for a few seasons yet at championship level so he might not be as keen as monk to hang up his boots just yet....we will have to wait and see because if Mr laudrups plan of trimming the squad to just 22 then these players has to go somewhere. some of the first team of last season will lose their place as we bring in fresh new players.....who that will be is anyone's guess....
I know Joe Allen had a meeting with his agent last night. Don't know how much of a regular occurrence that is, but it did get me wondering what would be discussed a couple of days before the transfer window opens...
Do you think Joe Allen excels because of your system or, if transferred, he would be successful? Think we'd definitely have tried for him without the gentleman's agreement.
Joe is a talented player and will fit in with any team that tries to play football and passes the ball. He is still a young lad with plenty more to come. I hope we can hang on to him. I suppose the secret to that is to try and stay in the Premier League next season because the money we will earn will help us to keep our better players.
I mentioned joe before Rodgers went to Liverpool to be fair, I hope we can keep him for another season but if he wants to go then it will be for money reasons only and lets be honest here 99% would want to go for a significant amount of money increase in their wages...
One of my mates dad's tipped Joe Allen after seeing him as a 16 year old playing for the reserves somewhere I think. It took years, but boy was he right. I rate Allen's touch, passing and vision as as good as most mid-tabled clubs' midfielders, and because he's so young I think he'll just get better and better. He does need games though. After being on an upward curve for so long, and playing so many games, it'd be heartbreaking for me to see him sit in the reserves of a big club as a sometime "rotation" player...
agree scott, if i was him i would want to be on the center stage this season than going for the money and not guaranteed a place every week. he is still very young and has plenty of time to play for teams like barca and real madrid than a team like liverpool who has been on a slow decline for years....
what about over the xmas period though??? do you think we can afford to give him the whole xmas period off to do panto at the grand theatre that im led to believe he has signed up to this year...
Internet rumour that we've tabled a £5 million bid for Celtic's Jamie Forrest. The best young Scottish player of his generation, he plays mainly right-wing but has also played a lot of football on the left or as a striker. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Forrest_(footballer_born_1991)
sounds like a replacement for siggs to me or sinclair who use to be a striker. good buy if we can get him. I like players who can play in multiple positions...
