Wonder how old he was when we got him? Brilliant player, best we've seen at the Tigers http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/...l-age-old-problem?fb=native&CMP=FBCNETTXT9038
I had a chat with him when he played for City....There was not any possible way on God's green Earth that he was younger than 45.
I remember a couple of years ago I was doing an article on Brownie for the Warren Yoth Centre newspaper and I arrived at the training ground and walked up to where all the HDM, Radio Humberside folks were and Jay-Jay came up to me and shook my hand and asked me how I was......I almost wet myself lol. also a funny story from that interview, Brownie said that featherstone was gonna be one of Hulls most prolific strikers the clubs ever seen.......wonder where he is now
His first game was at home against Stoke, rememer him taking a corner in front of South stand, ball was cleared straight back to him and he shot with the outside of his right foot, and it was a rocket just flew over the bar. Not many players have that way of thinking, thats what make them so special.
He is a very talented player, I bet he was amazing to watch when he was in his prime. I'll always remember that little trick he did to skin a few players right on the sideline, I can't remember who it was against but he flicked the ball up and did two players. so good they named him twice and all that...
My 7 year old lad loves him, always trying to copy his moves. Ronaldo? Messi? Nope his favourite player is JJ!!
Would quite like to see that footage of him lobbing the opposition players twice in front of the dug outs. Anyone have a link to it?
ask lampard and ashley cole about JJ for city , he made them look like schoolboys ... and as for norwich away ... wow .. just wow
One of the tricks he used to do which I liked was whenever he received the ball from a throw-in he couldn't just trap it normally, he'd always shape his body as if he was about to twat it up the pitch before controlling it and people fell for it all the time
In the early-nineties I had Sky which at the time could pick up German channels so used to watch the German footy as you would. The guy who stood out in the games was a young lad called Jay-Jay Okocha- he was always a great player and couldn't believe it when he signed for us all those years later. In the promotion season it must have given all the lads such a buzz to have a football great like him around the place, well done to Brownie for such a fantastic signing
He was down as Augustine on older versions of Football / Championship Manager. When did he become Jay Jay?
