Glad this has finally got sorted...sorry for Sean,he's done a great job for us.If it's confirmed he has lost out I'm sure a number of clubs would be interested in employing him based on what he's done here on a limited budget. GOOD LUCK SEAN..
Exciting times! As I'm reading on Twitter quite a bit, most people would rather have Bas out and Zola in than Bas in and Dyche staying.
If those were the only two options I would probably agree, but they're not. The only argument I've seen for taking Zola over Dyche is "profile". Paul Gascoigne has "profile", but that doesn't make him the ideal candidate to take over a Championship football team.
In an advisory role, he is an accountant when all is said and done. I have to query why him when any good corporate accountant would have done, maybe it was Baz looking for a known name.
I must admit, it would be harsh on SD if he were to be let go and I think he deserves a chance, but new owners often want their own men in, and if we start well, then sure fans will be won over The problem now is expectations will become quite high. SD was working with low expectations and over-achieved last season. What happens if in 3 months time we are struggling? No doubt SD would be let go. One small mercy for him is his stock his high and if he were to be let go, I'd hope he could walk into another pretty good job - and wold liek to think he could prove our owners wrong (while us performing very well too)
Andronikou being involved is worrying if it hadn't gone through!!! Who called him in I wonder was it Bas?
I'm sure we will. But why as an owner start off on that foot? I don't understand what they have to lose by seeing how things work out before attempting to bring in their own man, unless they genuinely believe that Dyche could get us relegated, or that a new man would definitely get us promoted in season one.
I hope so....... last banking day of the month today..... if not paid: families will be overdrawn, bank charges, mortgage wont get paid etc...... not a good state of affairs
Oh how sweet if Dyche gets to stay and has a bigger budget to be spent wisely, with the backup of the "pozzo" global scouting system than he who left for the promised land of sheep... If I were SD I'd relish the upcoming fixture and couldn't resist a sly dig. On such moments life has such flavour but then again a lot to still happen.
Zola not coming to us?? http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n.../watford-set-miss-out-zola-serie-calls-175486
It is great news for the club and hopefully signals a period of stability. Dan - What is wrong is the staff not getting paid today. Their money should be in their bank today - they have mortgages to pay, food to buy etc. This can be real worry on top of the stress of new owners coming in...this is not a trivial thing.
Can someone explain why all the news websites have the Watford takeover news and the only source we should trust is quiet. I know they are a very secret club and never say anything but this is silly.
Very true and Pozzos stated it would not be official until they released through their own PR vehicle though I don't know where to find that,
