Within the last 5 minutes it has gone from quite sunny with a few clouds, to ****ing bedlam.

It was like something from am apocalyptic movie.

The sky just went dark, in a matter of 20 seconds it went from dry to pissing it down, then lightning and thunder?!

    -----------------------------------------------

    On to the main topic.

I've noticed over the last two/three years or so we've had about a 1-2 weeks worth of proper hot days.

I rarely see Bees. I think I saw 3 of them last year. There were a bunch of them just randomly popped up within the last week or so, but this weather must be killing them!

Bees aren't surviving in our climate anymore. Whenever they think it's about to get warm again after 1-2 sunny days, and they dare to come out, they're hit with cold or **** weather for the next few weeks and are forced back into hibernation.

I know we've always been a **** country for weather, but I remember when we used to have several of good summer weather with the odd bit of rain maybe. Now it's winter weather for around 3-4 months, autumn weather for 6-7 months, spring for a bit after it starts to warm up, and If we're lucky we'll get a weeks worth of good summer weather in a year.

That was the craziest storm I've seen in the UK. Seems to be a fire down towards Fenham looking down from my house...I live at the top of the hill in Blaydon. Seems like a housing area.

How much can your memory be relied upon for such matters.

But anyway, I fail to see what the issue is regarding climate. It has never been constant. Just because it is being changed by humans makes it no better or worse, than say, if a volcano erupted and blocked out the sun casting us into a permanent winter.

Time for the beekeepers to step up their game and really earn their crust.

3 houses got struck by lightning in Benwell and caught fire, a double decker bus got overturned, roads have collapsed, flood everywhere! most mental hour ive ever seen.

As for Bee's well there is a parasite in some flower they land on that is killing them off or something like that.

I remember a storm here in the north east very similar to this in the late 1970s. Widespread flooding etc. There was a lot of "end of the world" comments doing the rounds then as well.

Took me 2 and a half hours to get from Washington to Cramlington, I left at 6 so sounds like I missed a lot of it! Had to start heading south as I couldn't find an un-flooded roundabout to turn around on!

Tunnel was flooded too so had to take the A1, and there was massive flooding on that as well. Heard on the radio that the Metro Centre is closed, Ikea had a section collapse and hurt someone and there was a lot of abandoned cars throughout.

I was playing football on Blakelaw football pitches, within the space of about 5 minutes the sky went black then grey the torrential rain then thunder and lightning. Was terrifying haha
