Anyone else heard he's leaving on a free. Haggling over wages with Charlton Athletic. Served us well but I am glad we don't have the prospect of the Gower set piece next term
Never been a Gower fan, he had a few good games, but for every good pass there was always a bad one to follow! Wish him all the best though!..................
Why a free? We should be playing hardball with every deal we are involved in. Even a couple of hundred thou can be put to good use and it's not a lot of money in today's transfer market - unless Gower is out of contract. Is he?
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! er I mean, sorry to see him go an all that, exceptional signing for er whoever, will miss him ( sob )
Good time for him to go I reckon, never one of my favourites but he served his purpose during his time with us and will do well to finish his career at a lower level.
Not a bad squad player. Did well at start of this season and I for one am grateful for his contributions. Probably time he did move on now but I don't want to see us release players without sign of replacing them. We could be left short
Gower is one of a number of players that have grown with us from the lower leagues. He always did what we asked of him, no questions asked, to the best of his ability. Sometimes it's been great, sometimes not so much, but I admire anybody that can raise themselves and their standard and have the courage to try to play above their true level. He's past most pro's due date in age; if / when he leaves I hope he finds a club that treats him well. Wherever he goes he will carry the Swan's style with him.
Q. Who took the corner when Williams scored with a header at Stamford Bridge? I like Gower; well-balanced with an excellent range of passing. I know I'm in a minority of 1.
I second that. (Or is it third?) Gower has done a very good job for us. I was delighted he got the chance to play against Spurs. He maybe doesn't hold possession at the same level as Britton or Allen but part of that is because he tried to play killer balls. There have been games where I've grown frustrated at moves breaking down because of this but him and Monk came in when we seemed screwed with injuries at the beginning of the season and did a fine job. That period was real make or break time and they kept us alive. We are outgrowing him, in the sense that we will be looking to sign more creative midfielders, but he can't be being paid much and slots straight in for any injuries. I'm torn.
I like Gower, been a great player for us....not the best by any means, but has been good for Swansea City. Loved his goal against Norwich And we scored a lot from his set pieces as well. Would be a shame if he left, but deserves to play regular football
Good luck if he is going, as said in previous threads he has done everything that we have asked of him and proved a lot of people wrong. oh well that is the space for seedorf all sorted then.
