No one is saying he is desperate to keep him or get rid

You need to remember Bruce owes Koren nothing. If he thinks he can use the money to get in someone better then Koren then he will sell. He might not want Koren. Apart from Fryatt and Koren all of your team was pathetic in front of goal but dont over rate them because they was the only half decent ones

1.5M for Koren would be a extremely good offer for him. But as i said its completely down to Steve Bruce

We all know the "Pearson will not pay over the odds for players like Sven did" mantra that our friends in the East Midlands keep spouting on the numerous occasions that a Hull player is linked with the crisp munchers. But isn't there a phrase "pay peanuts and you will only get monkies".

It would make my day if the Allams issued a statement with words to the effect that "If an opposition team wishes to purchase a player they will do so at the market rate, and not for a cheapo car boot sale price, and we are still not selling anyone to Leicester - and if they wish to unsettle our players or make illegal approaches to agents of our players regarding increases in wages, we will take the necessary actions of reporting them to the relevant footballing authorities."

    Yeah good luck with that

What are you going to do? Tell the FA we keep bidding for your players, they will laugh at you. Its called football, you dont like the offer reject it. Its hardly our fault SKY post an article saying we have bid for Koren or the Daily Mail, Mirror say we want Chester, Stewart etc.

Nigel wont over pay for player proven in January when the Stewart bidding became stupid we went and got Ben Marshall who is better value for money and a better player

And Steve Bruce wouldnt have accepted the job if the owners was telling him what he can and cant do. If Bruce gets an offer from us which he deems accepted and wants to sell then he will.

Your right that's quite simply the bottom line.

However at the moment the offer is too low and Koren is one of the stand out players in the squad he's inherited so the chances of him selling very low.

Increase the bid and/or Bruce eyes up someone more suitable for us then you might have chance.

To be honest if I were a Leicesteristan fan I would be VERY concerned about the obsession Nigel Pearson has with our players. If they have all this money, how come they are not showing interest in better players?

He is wasting his time playing games with us. Whatever Proud_Fox like to think he knows about our club, we all know who makes all the decisions. Steve Bruce will want certain things, the Allams will negotiate with him a budget to achieve that and Steve Bruce will not care where the money comes from to facilitate that budget. So if Mr. Allam doesn't want to do business with Nigel Pearson, he won't. IT WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH STEVE BRUCE WHATSOEVER, not that Steve Bruce would ever disgree with the principle here. I mean why would he want to sell one of his best players to a rival when he didn't need to?

I think the Allams would definitely do business with Leicester but they'll have to put in decent bids first. Personally I would refuse to sell any of our better players to rivals. If/when Koren goes I think it will either be to a PL club or somewhere abroad. Anything over £1m wouldn't be a bad deal.

I think Koren will go this summer. He doesn't fit in 442 and I think the PL interest from Reading will be enough to sway him to move on. I'd imagine it would be for nearer the million mark.

If/when he does go i'd go for George Boyd and Adam Hammill as replacements.

I rate Koren massively but in the cold light of day would he be more than a bit part player in a PL side?
It will all depend on where his priorities lay. If it's purely about the green and he can double his money he could well go. If he's looking at earning a few grand more but will be on the bench most of the season he'll stay.

When it looked like we might get in the play offs I honestly thought we might have to upgrade and that Koren could become a fringe player should we get promoted.

If Reading or another PL team think Koren is capable of playing the free role (and therefore probably the most influential attacking role) successfully they could find themselves struggling. I don't think he's up to doing it in the PL.

As for what Pearson is doing?
He knows that £500k is derisory, all he's doing is sending out a message to Koren with the hope it unsettles him.

    It is getting tiresome though.

Proud Fox read the whole comment (not the selective quoting you lot down south seem to be so fond of doing) - if your club IS ILLEGALLY APPROACHING AGENTS OF OUR PLAYERS OFFERING THEM BETTER DEALS, the FA would be taking action against your chairmen and anyone else associated with such a practice.

Anyway you know what Leicester Fans - you come on here all throughout the year, telling us what a rubbish place Hull is, how you're considerably richer than us, how your players are so much better than ours - i repeat how your players are so much better than ours (as you finished way higher in the league) and old Nigel is actually wanting our players because he must be of the opinion yours are c**p if he's trying to replace one of your brilliant midfielders with a player he only rates at £500000. That is hilarious, as actually you lot are actually scared that Allam and Bruce will not only not allow you anyone from our squad (not even our 3rd choice keeper) but that we have a better manager and squad of players to actually get promoted - and believe me when that happens Proud and the other saddos from Leicester who are infesting our board you will never hear the end of it next summer

    Here endeth today's first ranteth

For starters how are we illegally approaching your players? Because SKY say we have bid for him. Last time i have checked bidding for the player is going through the proper channels. Just because SKY get hold of it doesnt mean we have done anything wrong.

You all know like us how Nigel does his business. He doesnt say anything about it until the deal is done, he doesnt like talking to the media at the best of times never mind talking about speculation.

I cant see Steve Bruce dropping to the championship to take over a club who has an interfering chairman. I bet before he took the job he made sure he has full control over the football side of the club else he wouldnt of took the job. If he held out a little longer he could of got a prem job without someone telling him what he can and cant do.

I think Steve Bruce is a decent manager, apart from a promotion with Birmingham he has yet to achieve much. And just like with Nigel, apart from winning League 1 with us he has yet to achieve much so i think they are about on par although personally i would rather Nigel like you would probably prefer Bruce but move on from that.

Newspaper know Nigel is selling alot of players and because he brought most of the players at Hull they are linking us with them as they are easy targets. Just like you was linked with half our squad when Nigel went to Hull from here. Its not Nigel's fault the media are doing it. Unless Steve Bruce doesnt want one of the players or we make a stupid offer which is highly unlikely then i cant see anyone moving to us from Hull

But Steve Bruce will get the final say

Can I ask how you know that?

You know absolutely nothing about our owners other than what you have read in what you have already described as an inaccurate media playing games.

The fact is you are wrong. Steve Bruce, as I have already said to you a number of times now, has been given a budget and within that can request whatever players he wants. Their contracts and terms will be none of his concern other than a broad policy on wage structure. Over and beyond that budget he has no direct control over how the business of Hull City AFC is run. That is the preserve of the owners. If Steve Bruce, by some miracle known only to you, insists that we sell Robert Koren to Leicester City, THE FINAL DECISION AS TO WHETHER THAT HAPPENS OR NOT WILL NOT BE DOWN TO HIM, and he will not give too hoots about that. That is NOT interfering in running the team. Steve Bruce will want and be granted full control over who is in the first team squad and who is not. He will also decide who is purchased within the budget he has been set.

If Steve Bruce does not want a player in the first team squad then it is up to the owners what they do with his contract, whether they decide to let it run out and the player concerned gets consigned to the stiffs, or whether they look to recoup some money by selling the player.

Now fcuk off ond play somewhere else, you've had this explained to you enough times, even a chimp could grasp the princilple.

Other than several mid table finishes with unfancied clubs, obviously.

Its an old story that sky have chosen to reHash as its all so quiet out there in transfer land.

You have to admit that NP and Lesta do make good comedy. I mean who in there right mind would want to go play for Lesta ? <whistle>

All you can afford. Looks like the austerity period has hit your booze buster owners harder than they make out. :emoticon-0116-evilg

Its an old story brought out again. <rofl>

Not at all Koren is not unsettled anymore. I think all that has happened is that Korens agent is posturing to the Allams go give Koren the new contract that Nick Barmby had said he would get. I would even suggest that City are prepared to lose Koren for nothing next summer If he can help get us back upto the PL... Koren will not leave for any other championship club,,, imo.

Very much so. Lesta are more than a joke club. It embarassing in all honesty. Its like Bruce being linked with all his past Sunderland players. Its just media drivel and made up stories. Anything that may help sell copy.

I bet this is now of much amusement to the Hull City players. Shame that NP does not actually know what his old players actually think of him. Koren for starters hated playing for NP and especially out wide for starters.

Dont see Reading wanting Koren for anything other than a squad player. If RK went there it would be for the cash only. imo

If Lesta are offering just £500,000 they wont be able to douible his wages. FFS, Lesta are still struggling to get rid of Mills and Beckford for starters.

The Allams wont sell him to a rival end of. imo. Anyone who thinks they will is deluded. If they can afford to pay Ghilas and McShane to play elsewhere then they can afford to let kOREN rott in the unlikely event that Koren gets nasty about it. A clear message would be sent out from Allam Marine, imo. <nahnah>

Thats selling us short. KOREN is worth far mofre than you suggested ^^^ above. ;)

I doubt he will and all sensible fans of both clubs will just laugh at NP stupidity. If i were the Thai owners i would be having a word in his shell like. Move on OR Move Out. :1980_boogie_down:

I wouldn't. Koren is worth far more next season to us than £1.5m. IF Koren helps City get promotion then he can go for nothing next summer if he wants to. Either way both benefit. I dont see Reading as a good long term club for Koren.

Just about sums it all up. When the laughter of this story has died down all that is left is a sad reflection of just how bad Lesta and NP are. Glad that we go there early in the season when the lads are fresh and ready. A nice sound beating on there own turf would be a great pay back. ;)

Maybe he can now go and have a word with Nigel Pearson then. I wish him luck. :emoticon-0116-evilg

So Koren is worth more than 500k, Schmeichel, Waghorn & Nugent?
