its a kick starter for Reading to get interested for £1m .. its agents talk .. but at least you see the point Im making that there will not be a "koren role" next season

I've been saying that since Bruce took over. It didn't even work for us last season. Yes Koren scored a fair few but it hinders our attack and Matty is constantly isolated. If an offer of £1m comes in from a PL club then I'd sell.

What if Koren's agent has been contacted and told Leicester will double his wages

The transfer fee is irrelevant - the wages are what Koren and his agent will focus on

Some very naive posters on this thread

Not really. The Allams are stubborn enough that if that were the case and Koren got arsey whilst Leicester didn't offer us a decent fee they'd rather sit Koren in the reserves for the rest of his contract than sell him cheaply. They won't like losing the money by wasting it on his wages, but they'd prefer that to looking weak in dealing with players/clubs.

    Whatever.

The point being the sum mentioned is basically a symbolic one designed to signal to Koren and his agent Leicester's interest.

In Koren's position I'd see it as "I'm a PL standard player and despite them having loads of money to throw around they think I'm only worth half a mill? **** that, if I'm going anywhere I'll go somewhere they can see my real value"

He isn't going for that amount. Allam should give them a counter offer: 500k + Schmeichel + Nugent and Waghorn. That ought to shut them up.

If this carries on, with Pearson making ridiculous bids just to try and disrupt our club, things could turn nasty between the two clubs and that could spill over and affect the fans.

Hope Pearson appreciates the consequences of his rather infantile actions.

This is pretty interesting. Everyone is talking about us going 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 but that could work. I think Southampton sometimes played a diamond last season. I know they did at the KC against us and I'm trying to think who their wingers actually were. I mean Lallana was obviously very good but he's a right-footed player who cuts in and makes surging runs, not really a conventional winger, and I know their full backs were praised for their getting up and down so they might have played that way more often. As you say our full backs could get forward and help out and Heskey is known for dropping off to the wing and Fryatt, McLean and Simpson do a similar thing so it could be worth considering.

I can't see it though. Bruce isn't that kind of manager is he?

i'd let him go for 1.5 million but not to a club in our division so reading it would have to be.

We should bid £75k for Schmeichel and a family bag of crisps(Walkers) for Waghorn.

I think Koren is the player most likely to leave us this window, but so long as Nige sticks in poxy bids, it will be nothing more than the brunt of jokes in the offices of Allam Marine.

I think SKY have got their figures wrong. 500K if that is right isn't going to be considered as Koren is worth more then that. I think 1.5M would be a very good offer and as high as we should be willing to go. It would make good business for you aswell

I think Koren is the only player we have a chance of signing because as he is ageing, contract running down, on high wages and you can get a decent fee for him so Bruce MIGHT want to sell him so he can bring in his own men

I think this one is completely down to Bruce

    Several things here.

First off the Allams won't deal with Leicester.
Secondly, Korens agent has said he would only CONSIDER a move if it was to a Premiership side.
Thirdly, even if Sock Face hadn't severely p155ed off the Allams by running out on his contract, we would not sell one of the best players at the Club to a rival.

    Have a nice day.

First things first. Steve Bruce wont take the Hull job if he keeps getting told what he can and cant do by the owners. He will want full control, If a prem move doesnt come around which i dont think it will then moving here Koren would be able to double his wages. At his age that could be too much for him to resist and you final point its down to weather Steve Bruce wants to keep him or would rather the money and be able to spend it bringing in his own players

I cant see us getting Cameron Stewart or James Chester but i think we do have a chance with Robert Koren but its completely down to Steve Bruce

Yes, of course, I'm sure Steve Bruce is desperate to get rid of Robert Koren!
