Classic game for town. Desperate for a win, playing bottom of the league club. What will town do? Lose? Let's hope not.
Yeah that is what Gillingham are having to hope for as we have had to play some of the **** sides of late, But they are normally all putting up a fight like Hereford for example they are doing that, But Lincoln didn't hold us up much at all.
GOT to win this one, no ifs no buts. It's GOT to happen.. But why do I have an uneasy feeling. Hmmmmm, anyone remember Darlington a few years back?
if town have any hopes of the play offs this must be a goal fest show. i am intending to make a 480 mile round trip to watch this game, from devon. so it better be good. i am afraid to say the last home game i watched was at the gay meadow in 1963 when shrews beat bristol rovers 7-3. the rovers goalkeeper esmond million got done for throwing the game. arthur rowley got 2 including a penalty. matster i am b and b ing in shrewsbury on thurs, fri and saturday nights and hope to be with liz at the railway inn yorton each evening. floreat salopia and roland change that ruddy badge! floreat salopia and where are all our faithfull 606ers so cruelly displaced by those charmless nerks at the bbc. come on whatshrew and jenny etc where are you
AJ let's hope you see a win, have you bought a ticket or getting one beforehand? Which stand do you fancy? What area is your b&b in? I'll pop down for a beer. Will probably be in town after match for a couple.
welcome whatshrew welcome back jenny. matster i am hoping to get some cheap digs in coton hill or monkmoor rd. have sent emails without response. i am hoping to buy a ticket at the ground on the day. town cannot be as as bad as at shots or gulls surely not, or can they. which stand do you recommend that may keep an old reprobate from devon dry. i shall try to avoid any obscenities about towns badge, but any poor play may bring me out in full chant calling for rolands head and his decanter. come on you shrews floreat salopia. if we cannot beat stockport, we certainly will not beat high ercall reserves. i believe from our previous threads a bunch of scots are coming down to visit the ground.
AJ if you buy a ticket on a day before the match you save about ã2, the price of a half and some parsnip crisps! I sit in Block 12, the corner of the south stand at the top which commands a great view of the pitch. If you want a balanced view the West stand is best, but busy and you'll be sitting lower/closer to the pitch. East stand is the family stand but tends to get sunshine blinding them and the prevailing wind so if it's wet you get wet. If you're staying in Coton Hill try out the Woodman, the Salopian on Smithfield road is also good. Monkmoor, the Abbey Pub has a wide range of quality beers, although it is soon to be refitted. Good town pubs - Wheatsheaf - high street; Admiral Benbow and Coach & Horses at the back of the market Square; Three Fishes - fish street.
You're welcome in block 19 AJ, just a thought Yeah, there are a handful of Jocks down to visit little Shrewsbury. Hopefully we can give Stockport a nailing but who knows. I'd love to think GT is steadily building an invincible machine of a squad next season to obliterate anything in it's path and he'll certainly be able to mould it to his liking, but we all know how Town do under pressure- this season was supposed to be a title challenge(albeit from the Shropshire Star) Then again, no-one saw the Chesterfield machine coming..
If i remember - We were never place to make a challenge by the bookies, it was supossedly Bradfords turn (can't remember who else)
the bookies had bradford ,gillingham, wycombe as there favourites we were about 10th so finishing in top 3 or play offs is still good season, and i still believe we will finish top 3
Saturday we will beat our league scoring record. We will be struggling at 3-0 up with 20 minutes to go but Matt Harrold will come on and rescue us, scoring 5 in the remaining time. Still a poor return for AJ who saw 10 goals in his last home appearance.
