Seems like he has disciplinary problems as he's been arrested three times in the past two years for various offences including attacking a restaurant owner after a bout of road rage, using prostitutes and punching a teenage boy who had shown an interest in his sister. Now they are saying that he was one of the individuals within the team that was causing problems for France along with Nasri and Ben Arfa. If this is all true then I wouldn't want him at the club, the last thing we need is another player who could be in the tabloids a lot for the wrong reasons and who may be poison in the dressing room. So what is everyone's thoughts about him and would you still want him at Arsenal?
I still want him the guy is class. I would be happy to have an aggressive character like M'Vila or De Jong in the squad. Its too soft as it is.
He seems a bit ... hot headed, thats right, I said it !!! Do we want characters who will spoil the harmony in the squad ? I'm not sure I do tbh. Rather we go for Capoue who seems better as a pure DM anyway. He looks more physically imposing too. Capoue, Capoue, Capoue.
Why not Joey Burton then, he will be much cheaper. Arsenal fans are longing for a tough guy. But being tough and being hot headed (or just a thug) is two very different things. To me jury is still on here. M'Villa looks like a really useful player, but here is a small doubt about his character now. A "tough" player may excel or may loose his head in a tougher, more physical league. Anyway, I hope all these stories could help to knock his price off a bit.
I've only seen clips but the clips I have seen he looks like a DM first and everything else after - which I think is what we need, we don't want a DM who is going to try to get upfield as often as possible. He looks massive - got very broad shoulders and is 6ft2 or 3. Plays for Toulouse, Etiene Capoue. He wouldn't cost as much as M'Vila and looks like he would relish the physicality of English football - he is certainly built for it. He could free Arteta and Wilshere to do more than just simple passes because he looks disciplined. He doesn't dwell on the ball for long either, he looks to pass it quickly which would suit us.
sounds very promising, to be honest I was not that impressed with Mvilla from what I saw from him in games for France, did very little against Spain (never really got to anyone in the spanish midfield) and seems a bit light weight for a defensive midfielder. That's one good thing about Song in that he is physically very strong and would be a great DM if he didnt drift forward so often
They looked to have great team spirit to be fair. After the mauling at Old Toilet and Jenkinson and Walcott having a go at each other, I think the squad came together well, especially after the Chelsea and Spurs wins. I don't see any attitude or petty squabbling on the pitch. The selfless work RVP did for the team was a great example of it, I mean, nobody can say he didn't give his all for Arsenal last season. I think M'Vila is the better midfielder but Capoue the more physical and better defensively, I've not really seen him play except for clips, but he seems more imposing and I think thats what we need more than anything else.
Yes I believe we do, although is not nearly as strong as previous years I would say that they do play as a team and fight for each other.
I think there are the seeds of a title winning attitude in this team. The emotional journey of our players has been noticeable and you can tell the difference in the squad.
I echo hotheads views on Capoue, but i've actually seen him play, and he'd be a very good fit, and under 10 million too probably.
