His display against Spain certainly proves he can cut it at the very top (even if we didn't know that already). I think with Spurs missing out on the C.L again, it has to be time for him to move on. Madrid, United etc would be a significant step up and I'm sure he'd fit in well. Bale is a few years younger so can afford to wait a couple of years.

If I remember correctly it was a combination of bottling 3rd to their biggest rivals and then having to watch Chelsea become European Champions....if I remember correctly!!
So it was....I'd completely forgotten about that. Mind you, the teams we played weren't up to much and didn't play as well as they should have, and we were lucky, and we didn't deserve it.
