From SSN I know, but apparently based on Pardew 'quotes'.

Pardew - No Forster deal done
Keeper set to report back for pre-season training with Magpies

Alan Pardew is expecting Fraser Forster to report back for pre-season training at Newcastle United, with the keeper yet to secure a switch elsewhere.

The highly-rated shot-stopper has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Magpies in recent years.

He spent the 2009/10 campaign with Norwich City, and the last two seasons with SPL giants Celtic.

The Hoops are known to be keen on doing a deal, but nothing has been agreed with Newcastle.

West Ham United and Southampton are also reported to be weighing up an approach, but they too have yet to make a move.

As a result, Forster is due back at St James' Park, with Pardew reluctant to speculate on what his short-term future may hold.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "At the moment he is coming back to us.

"He will be with us until he finds a club and we find a fee that works for us."

    Pardew - Simpson could stay
Former Manchester United starlet could remain on Tyneside

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has hinted there could still be a future for Danny Simpson at the club.

The 25-year-old and the Magpies have been at loggerheads over a new deal for the last 12 months, and Simpson rejected their latest offer at the end of last season.

That action only served to accelerate the uncertainty around his future with West Ham, Fulham and QPR all reportedly interested in him.

However, as his first-team squad prepare to return for pre-season fitness tests, Pardew was optimistic about his right-back's future.

"He's got a year left on his deal," he told The Chronicle.

"He turned down a new contract and that's where we are. Danny could play the whole season next year. We'll have to see."

Simpson was integral to the Magpies' back four that finished fifth last term, but with just 12 months left on his deal, he could opt to run down his contract.

Can't see Forster sticking around, so we're likely to cash in - unless he has yet another loan deal, in which case we'll end up letting him go for free one day.

Would like to see Simmo stay, but IF we get another full back of Debuchy's class, then I can't see Simmo happy sitting on the bench.

    Thoughts?

Staying on the Toon or in the Toon?

Forster's a good keeper that I've always liked and has been unlucky to have the likes of Tim to compete with. It would be good to keep him (I'd rather have him than Green) but he deserves to be playing first team football. If we can arrange a deal with a decent team for another loan period it'll at least keep him sharp.

I hope Simmo stays. Foster I don't really care about.

I'd like to see both stay on, Forster was loaned out to help him improve his game. For him to come back and expect first spot is a bit stupid but would certainly good to have him fighting it out with Krul for a starting spot.
A Move to West Ham or Southampton isn't really progression for the lad.

As for Simmo I'd like to see him stay and to get Debuchy as well to strengthen the RB spot, for someone who is complaining about not being on enough money he certainly had 3 very nice and not to cheap holiday!!!

Without seeing all the paperwork, it seems that Simmo was offered a decent contract that he deemed wasn't suitable because he wasn't offered the same as Colo and some others. You get paid what the company feel you're worth, not what other players are worth.

Agree! It's also what the company can afford to pay! We're not big spenders and no longer in the game of paying super high wages to match over inflated egos.

We are operating within our means. He may well get more elsewhere and if that is what motivates him and ultimately determines his decision, then so be it - good luck to him. Can't argue with that. But, if he wants to fight the opportunity to play at a great club that is full of passion & pride, going in the right direction and offering european football - then he can knuckle down and sign on the dotted line.

Rob Green has kept his place in the England squad after a day long training session in which he had over a thousand shots fired at him and didn't conceed a single one. After this Roy Hodgson has agreed to let him train with the rest of the squad tomorrow ...................... Jermain Defoe however has been told to keep practising.

Just Pards playing cute for me. He expects them to leave but is quite happy to openly say they are welcome to stay to warn clubs trying to take them on the cheap.

Perhaps also this way, if Simmo (or any other player in a similar circumstance) ends up leaving, it is very, very clear that he/they have walked away from the club, rather than the club doing the pushing.

Would happily have Forster back if he was willing to play understudy to Krul, has to be better than Elliot surely.

I'm really hoping that we haven't decided to keep Simpson on due to the Debuchy deal falling through, I wouldn't mind Simpson staying on as backup, but I don't want him anywhere near the starting lineup next season. Hes detrimental to our attacking flowing and not to mention very suspect defensively.

Maybe but I don't really see it like that. Its just modern football for me, its more of a business. You always feel like there will be uproar if someone leaves. I just think sometimes in any business agreement the two parties can't find middle ground. The club have taken a view on him, one he doesn't agree with. Its just life and the fans need to learn to accept players come and go. There will be exceptions to the rule who develop something deeper with club but its not the modern way. I understand both Simpson and the clubs standpoint. Both have valid reasons for not budging. If he went I'd wish him well and move. I'm quite happy for him to stay but sometimes its not meant to be. I think Santon should move over anyway to play his natural role with a left back coming in.

I've felt huge disappointment in the past when favourite players have left, or been sold, now I'm much more accepting of the way things are.
There's nothing I can do about it, no point in moaning, it will never stop me going to the games or supporting my team.

I used to get so annoyed. Its natural as we're all proud of our club and basically think its the bees knees! I used to think "how can you not want to be here?" Equally I thought when we sold others I used to think about the club "why would you sell him you complete clowns?" You get so many different versions all twisted by either party, you just end thinking I'll support whichever 11 are on the pitch. I
