To be honest, last season we just had a general issue in front of goal where literally everyone was missing chances from all positions. The only player you could really say didn't miss some outrageous chances last season was Koren (in fact he might have missed a bad one that I've forgotten). When the problem is so widespread it could just be a confidence thing that the entire team having not scored many goals as a team just didn't believe in their ability to shoot at goal. Signing players like Heskey and new wingers will help but the main thing will be for people to get their confidence back and start to shoot for the corners a bit more and stuff.
Heskey started for england in the world cup 2 years ago, and even assisted the 1st goal against usa.. no way are we in a position to turn our nose up at that sort of player at this moment in time.. he may be the butt of a lot of jokes, but michael owens endorsement says more to me then those...
I hardly think a player who has played in the Premier League for almost the entirety of his career counts as a "reject"
I really hope this comes off. In the few games Adebola played last season there was an improvement in the sharpness of Mclean and Fryatt. Heskey is far more experienced and like Fryatt he is quite a clever striker who knows how and where to move on the pitch to best expose defences. I reckon if Heskey and Fryatt get on the same wave-length we could be in for some goals (for a change).
THANK YOU! someone that finally sees sense! As Proud_Fox said, we also need another few quality signings. Anderson being another one for me and about 2/3 other than that (without the 2 keepers). Free market could help us as there's that many players on frees without the Rangers lot! IMO we should actually stick clear of the Rangers players, as their new owner is suing every one that find a nearly club (and the club of course) for breach of contract.
Sone Aluko would be the most useful to us and he shouldn't cause any such problems, as technically he's out of contract anyway.
I agree that Heskey would be a great signing for the Tigers. Alright, He doesn't score many but his hold up play is quality and he is a real handful. Loving it!
What you all moaning about great signing for city is Heskey it could help attract other players too if players like Heskey are coming here, didnt you think about tha? His assists stats are very good too and he is good in the air and strong to hold the ball up, thats if he is used that way.
Donny may have been relegated and Diouf may be a complete prat, but he was by far their best player. I'd stop digging if I was you Charlie.
Charlie, stop ruining this thread by looking for an argument with everyone who doesn't share your delusions, what are you a 12 year old girl with PMT or something?? Heskey would be a stunning start for me transfer wise, get him signed up!!
