Yeah, Diouf was outstanding at the KC when we drew 0-0.

Let us just wait and see what he brings to the table..... if he's no good there is always January. If he is the reason for positive results, some on here will be saying how good they said he will be

It's a good signing, exactly what Matty needs and he will be quality addition at this level.

Heskey will only be a good signing for you if you follow it up with other good signings as he isn't going to be the answer to your goalscoring problems. Fryatt will bang a few more in but overall your team is poor in front of goal. Get some players in who know where the goal is and Heskey would be a great signing

The lack of goals was mainly due to 2 things poor formation and poor supply from the wings.

We had the same problems aswell. It didnt stop Nugent getting 16, Beckford getting 15 and Gallagher getting 10

You need to sign some decent attacking players and set out more attacking. Yeah you will probably ship a few more goals but you will score alot more

I hope Heskeys wages don't stop us bringing other players in, I think he will help the young lads but he is past it now, used to rate him very highly but this looks like the Adebola signing again only for a lot more money. Good luck to him and us anyway.

Just goes to show how **** your defence is then if you can score all those goals and still end up a mid table non entity.

You need to sign some decent defenders and concentrate on that side of things. You'll probably score less but also concede fewer.

You might think you already know that, bit like we know we need to score more goals.

Thanks for the advice in any case.

The Allams wouldn't have signed him if he was too expensive, he'll help Matty. One thing I don't agree with is saying we had poor supply from wingers. We had no height and Matty couldn't win a ball in the air to save his life.

He is past been an england international and playing for a top premiership side, however I think he will be a very very good addition to our squad

Crosses from the wing dont have to be in the air, the wingers were below average last season and this was critical in the formation Nick was playing

Very true, but only having one up front doesn't help.

One up front works for some teams but with the personnel we had last season it was never going to be a roaring success

So finally glad its almost over and official now. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Indeed he does. He will be perfect for Matty Fryatt end of. This news is no surprise as i did post this news 2 weeks ago. Just glad that one of my sources was well informed. Great news for all true City fans and Matty Fryatt. :1980_boogie_down:

He is what the club has been needing. A massive upgrade on Dele Adebola for starters. I dont see one rival teams backline enjoying playing against Heskey at all. As long as the wingers and Koren especially put in good crosses and passes then watch out.

Who knows, but another good reason to keep Aaron Mclean. We need a back up. Just need to move on McShane and Simpson now. Maybe we can offer the Posh Jay Simpson as part of any Tomlin deal.

He will. The fact that messrs. Fowler - Owen and Rooney have said Heskey has been the best partner they have had is more than enough for me. I would not be surprised to see Heskey get 10-20 goals from good service. ;)

Matty Fryatt will be rubbing his hands with gless at this news. Superb and will surely help when trying to attract other players. Maybe with Fryatt moving back to the midlands he can car share with Heskey to Hull each day ?

From what ive been told Heskey will be cheaper than Ghilas on wages. £12-15k a week plus add-ons subject to team success.

I would agree on that. I would also suggest that Heskey is a better all round player than Jason Roverts.

We might be jumping the gun a bit here, he hasn't actually agreed anything with us yet, he's not seeing us until he gets back from his holidays early next month.
