Nice to see a sensible thread about the game, the other one about the 'diving italian bastards' doesn't reflect well on our board, if anything we had Rooney and Young playing tonight who are a lot worse than anything the Italians have , great game, fairly contested, great sportmanship both sides, no shame to lose on pens, good luck to Italy v Germany, they will need it!
I know how this will come over, but I seriously didn't think much of the Italians. A poor England side kept them to farting about in the middle of the pitch and hoofing a few wild shots for the bulk of the game. I reckon people start to believe the likes of Lawrenson' s negative ****e and ****ing over the Ities. What England lacked was any attacking threat. It's a sorry state of affairs if Rooney and Carroll are the best we've got. Better forwards and we'd have taken a couple of the chances because the Italians weren't up to much in defence.
They weren't that great, but they were better than us. If it's not a Spain v Germany final now I will eat my own head
