I thought he'd turned a corner, and started playing the long game, but the old lewis was back today. Win or bust •Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Grosjean. Was probably going to win after the finger's retirement, but luck is a cruel mistress. •Best Team: Lotus. Were going to have a double podium, if reliability had held up. •Worst Team:Mclaren. Hamiltons pitstop. •Best Overtake:Grosjean on Hamilton. Bravery, car control etc. all rolled into 1. •Funniest-moment:As a Hamilton basher, it had to be him crashing out. •Most Surprising Result:Schumacher's car actually lasting 57 laps •Least Surprising Result:Lotus looking fast but not actually winning •Special Mention to:Mark Webber. Best Driver: Alonso. He wouldn't have won the race without Vettel's retirement, but it was a magnificent drive which would probably have earned him this award regardless Worst Driver: Maldonado. Harsh perhaps, but while it can be argued that Hamilton diced with his points, it's beyond question that Maldonado would have finished third if he had been conservative and pounced later. Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): I'm going for Pic because 15th is a very solid result, but it would be harsh not to mention Grosjean. Best Team: Lotus, on the basis that I put Ferrari's win largely down to the driver. Worst Team: Torro Rosso on account of their drivers, with an honourable mention to the McLaren pit crew. Best Overtake: Alonso on Grosjean, perhaps Perez on Button was up there too. Funniest-moment: Eddie Jordan stating that he was redundant. I actually cheered out loud. Most Surprising Result: Depends. Based on what I would have predicted on Thursday, I'd say Schumacher's podium. After qualifying I'd have said that Vettel had the win in the bag, and wouldn't have dreamt of Alonso winning from 11th. Least Surprising Result: Maldonado messing up. Special Mention to: Red Bull, for the amazing pace Vettel had. Race Rating: 8.5/10. Broke through the glass ceiling for Valencia, but I don't think I would ever give a race at this track 10/10. Best Commentator overall: Ben Edwards. Flawless.

Best Driver: Alonso was in a league of his own. Worst Driver: Vergne. I was going to say Senna but his recovery was decent. Best Rookie(Grosjean,Pic,Ricciardo,Vergne): Grosjean Best Team: Ferrari, they got everything right Worst Team: Toro Rosso, off the pace and seemingly losing ground to other midfield teams.
