Its a quarter final of a major championship, it will be a very tight game maybe the first 0-0 in this tournament, extra time will fail separate the teams then we have penalties! Anyone fancy and England win on pens....no I didnt think so.

I really hope we don't have to go to pens, what do you think the team will be, I think it will be the same personally.

Yes I agree, I am not expecting any changes to the starting line up, but think we may see different subs with Extra Time and Pens in mind

I wonder what Hodgson will do if it's looking like penalties, I always thought Robson made an error in not subbing Beasant on, who was known as a penalty saver, Rob Green is an excellent shot stopper and penalty saver (as all hammer fans know), I'd say the best in England, it's the rest of his game that lets him down a bit, like flapping at crosses. It would be the smartest thing to do

I would still rather have Hart in goal if it does go to pens.

I would rather have Hart in goal and use the substitutions to have fresh legs on the pitch

Good point, but Hart has been the man all of the tournament so far so I would not bring on Green, anyway we don't want Pens.

Hart can take penalties too! He did miss one for us against Sheffield United once, but he can take them well usually.

I don't think it will go to penalties but if it does Italy's record historically is every bit as shocking as ours is. They've only ever won 1 (against a Dutch side with just as bad a record) and went out of 3 consecutive world cups in a shoot out. I'm not saying we'd definitely win but I'd rather have penalties against Italy than Portugal, Germany and probably Spain.

Both sides will play with 10 defenders, there will be a no mans land in the middle of the park.
1-1 at FT then anything can happen in ET or dare I say it ... penaltys...

I just have a feeling we may end 3-1 but if I was betting it is 2-1 Italy.

anyone have any news on the england team? as someone said, we need fast wingers, but hodgson seems intent on playing milner, who i think has been our worst player this tournament.

I think Milner is good at getting the ball into the box but that don't really work if you don't have Carroll out there, he is a good player down the wing and was much better at the world cup but not as good at this tournament, the worst player was Young but he was class in the last game, if I was to drop Milner I would bring in Walcott, but then I would personally drop Welbeck for Carroll as he is good for us.
I personally think there will be no changes as Roy will not fix anything unless it is broken, he may make changes at half time though.

Milner, Welbeck and Young yet again do **** all and get into the team. I'd be furious if i were Ox, Walcott or Carroll. All three deserve to play more. Roy is going to set out to be defensive and we're probably going to get ****ed sideways anyway.

I think Young was good in the last game but not the 2 before that, such a shame though as I thought he would be great, Welbeck's problem is that he doesn't control the ball very well and loses it a lot but is good at finishing but I would much rather have Carroll in the team or Defoe (Yeah everyone seems to forget about him) I don't know why he don't get to play anymore, he is good at scoring and controlling the ball. Walcott and Carroll should be in with a chance to start and Defoe should at least get half an hour.

I now have a few other bets, England 2-1 win with Rooney scoring first. 28/1
    England 3-2 Rooney first 125/1
    England 3-1 Rooney First 80/1
    England 3-1 22/1
    England 3-2 33/1
    Rooney to score first 11/2
and the other one I said above,
I think that is all I will bet on.
