Brb, the link you provided actually offers a lot more insight than the gillsconnect article and makes the ryder takeover seem a lot more likely than I thought. Perhaps it's just some forum s stirring, if Mickey Adams jumped ship again I doubt he would ever really feel accepted in stoke.

He has so much respect for Port Vale to walk away. Port Vale let him follow his dream to manage his home town club, then had him back the moment it went wrong!

I generally try to look back as far as is possible to origin of source, although in this instance I did not need too because it was already in my knowledge before a certain website even touched the story. I personally believe options such as Adams and Clark are always still open and why I never dismiss them until confirmed officially. Simply because like many clubs today, whether it be Birmingham or Port Vale and many others they have their rumoured, speculated, reported issues. My logic of thinking is would I really want to be tied into a club (unless there is underlying loyalties) that at a later date attracts more media attention for reasons other than the job as a manager or coach is required. You can ignore those issues but they all affect at the end of the day what happens on the pitch. For our club it is an unknown quantity what any package deal might be for an incoming manager but unless someone suddenly drops a financial bomb shell at least we can offer some sort of security without the additional hassle during the period of contract. Sometimes maybe we are more attractive then we give PS credit, any manager wishing to prove themselves on a respectable League Two budget (proven in the support Hessy was given) with reasonable L2 attendances, should look no further.

I also think the managers job is an attractive one, certainly more so than most of the clubs in L2. Like him or not,it appears Scally lets the manager manage, provides him with as much funds as he can, doesn't sack him when things first start going wrong, got a good away following for a L2 club, and a home base of fans that increase if we are doing well and playing good football. Scally will also sell the club as one that wants to get into not only L1 but the Championship as well. Also he can dangle the propect of a new ground (although if that will happen is anyones guess). I can see any manager who is willing to work in L1 or 2 being interested.

Sorry that was very tongue in cheek what I said. No one else remember that I said if it was a cheap (for want of a better term, could use poor I suppose) manager he would be announced after England went out of the Euro's?

We guessed that your 'cheap' comment was being was tongue-in-cheek. - as was my reply 'cheap -is there any other way ?' -but both posts seem to have been deleted !
But maybe there is a little truth in the claim. It has been noted that, come next Sunday Mr.Scally will have saved another months' salary regarding the lack of appointment.

alwaysright - I've not deleted any posts since this thread began that I can remember of and certainly nothing of yours or Gemini's? If I deleted something I would say so.

Erm...if Clarke was in for the Birmingham job along with someone else who was at the Euros. Maybe not a cheap option. I think you might be able to see where I am coming from here?

I think I can see what you are suggesting brb. Given the haste in which the Brum are selling talent to balance the books, may I add that this mystery individual is likely to be an expensive and risky move. ;)

Clark could be the equivalent to a Gary Bollen appointment - the Blues' cheapy option.
