Yes but this is the INITIAL reason I posted the goals and assists statistics. Now you alwasy argue that stats dont tell the 'whole' story but they do at least prove that Walcott scores more and gets assists more often than Ben Arfa. And I would wager in another two seasons when Theo is the same age he will be considerably better than the Frenchman.
NO. I never said Gervinho was a better player. I'll repeat it for the THIRD time.. I stated that Gervinho had 'a more successful time in the French league'. I stated that I think Walcott is better and that with Podolski,Van Persie,Walcott,Oxo and probably Giroud in the team Benf arfa would'nt get games and would there fore be a waiste of money. Besides its all just opinion, its always hard to argue one player over another. My Main concern is that Wenger waistes money in an area we are strongest in while neglecting to fix our defensive problems.
Not on your van nelly mate ! Never going to happen, Ben Arfa is a far more skilful player than Walcott, its not even close. If your argument is effectiveness then yes Walcott has the edge, but lets see what happens when Ben Arfa plays a full season in England.
What's never going to happen? Sometimes it's best to actually read the post before replying. Walcott is already better than Ben Arfa
Seriously mate, give it up. You have your big red Arsenal glasses on mate and this is seriously clouding your judgement. Ben Arfa is in a different league skillwise to Walcott. It is his attitude and his leg break that has impeded his developement. Had Wenger come in for Ben Arfa early on in his career, then he would have been on the same, if not better level than Nasri or Benzema. Let's be honest about Walcott, he is good but take away his pace, then he would be an average Prem player. As long as he retains his pace, then he will continue to be dangerous and we should keep him. But lets not be in any illusions here, he is the least skilled in our squad by some margin.
Not soo much 'the wind' as hot air. This is typical nonsense. The guy has had one mediocre season in his career and the rest were just plain disappointing. He doesn't score goals or get many assists and like you already said is not much of a 'team player'. It makes me laugh. He has found his level at Newcastle. This is the same kind of nonsense I've already heard about Nzogbia, Rodallega and Ryan Babel. (all have been hyped up linked to Arsenal and labelled 'better than Walcott') I got alot of critiscm for saying pretty much the same thing about Chamakh.
At the present time, I'd rather have Theo than Ben Arfa. Theo plays in a wing forward position, which is a position that exists in the formation Arsenal use. Ben Arfa is more of an orthodox winger - a position that doesn't exist at Arsenal right now. With his lack of assists & goals (I'd argue that Theo's finishing is superior to Ben Arfa), he'd not fit into the Arsenal system at all right now. You could play him as an AM, but does he have the vision for that? Has he played there regularly and contributed goals and assists? He has not. Would you pick him for that role over Rosicky, or Wilshere, or the Ox? Maybe over Ramsey, but who knows how he'll perform this season. He's a good player, he has ability, but Theo is far more what Arsenal need at this point. If the system changes, he would be a great player to have, but not for the money he would command in transfer fee, plus I doubt he'd want to leave Newcastle at this point, where he'll be playing first team football, for Arsenal, who can't guarantee him that by a long way. All in all, he's a good player, I rate him highly, but he wouldn't suit Arsenal. Theo is a good player, getting better, I rate him, and he's just what Arsenal need in their system. With regards to Flamini, it's a tough call between him and M'Villa. The transfer fee for M'Villa would be big, but he's got 10 years ahead of him, while Flamini has perhaps 3 or 4. Flamini would cost 17m less however, and that money could be spent on Vertonghen or a decent AM though. It's a tough call!!
