**** me, how dull are they to watch? I've only managed to see a couple of bits of their games before I lost the will to live.
Agree had to laugh when the commentator said the fans are sat in silent admiration Er no I think you'll find they are indeed asleep or just bored ****less
Accoding to the commentator the ref only gave that penalty to ensure Spain went through as no one wants to see the French qualify... Actually I think he's got a point.
This thread has made my heart sing and restored my faith in the average football fan. I've been saying for years throughout the media ****athon over both Barca and Spain that 25 collective sideways passes is not 'breathtaking, sparkling' football. It's ****, FACT. It also begs the question why the media dont **** so much over the Germans. If Spain had produced their brand of football I honestly think we'd have seen some death by wet dream as truly this tournament they have played possibly the best football at international level I have ever seen (I'm too young to have seen Brazil 70 and Netherlands in 74 and 78).
I don't think it's boring to watch. I don't think both teams were trying, or at least if France were they were too scared and it made them look poor. Tonights should be worse with two defensive teams cancelling each other out.
I have never once been entertained in all the dozens (probably hundreds) of times I have seen the present Barca and Spain teams. When listening to the pundits and general media opinion I actually got to the stage where I thought 'Am I missing something?'. I still dont think I am.
Thank the Lord. It is good to know that there are other sane people out there. The number of arguments I've had with mates about Spain and unbelievable. I swear that the commentators are on commission with increasing levels of money being paid the more extreme their superlatives. I'm still waiting for some to announce that they've got wood or to ask their co-commentator to take over whilst they pop off and get some new underwear after having their own party in their pants. Yes they find space easily, always have 2-3 people around them and play sublime 1 touch passing football but it's all in the first 2/3 of the pitch. When they get in the final 1/3, they rarely have a shotand when they do it's usually way off target. Yes they have 65-70% of possession but who cares? If they were winning 5-0 every time then great, they'd have something to show for it but for the most part, the opposing keeper could tootle off to read war and peace on the khazi and not have to worry about Spain scoring. I know a lot of people feel obliged to hate Ronaldo but I personally hope he has a blinder and belts a hat trick past the Spanish. No doubt the ref will try and even things up by handing the Spanish some outrageous pens or other dodgy decisions, otherwise I fear that the media will announce that they're no longer covering the euros due to the death of football, whereas the rest of us will be celebrating and calling for an annual 'national we love Portugal day'!
Im worried for the commentators when Portugal meet Spain. They won't know which side to **** over the most. Well, I think Ronaldo will win on most jizz created but honestly, neither side are exciting to watch, England would have beaten Spain last night, easily, France just let them pull them out of shape all over the place. I was actually hoping France would win last night after about 15 mins of pointless, boring "football". Germany should be confident as hell now of winning this tournament.
I do prefer a game of tackling though. Scott Parker getting stuck in rather than players dancing around a ball.
I agree Spain were boring but it takes two teams to make a game of football. France just flat out refused to play, even in the last 10 mins surely you would go 3 at the back and push your full backs up, but nothing. This Spanish team is definitely weak at the back, dont rate the back four at all defensively.
It was a dire game, Spain just went side to side for the last seventy minutes and France were just ****.
