What Bothyroyd is really trying to say it "I am on £30k a week and no-one else in their right mind would pay me that, especially in the Championship which is my level, so due to this I am going to be seeing out my contract on the bench at QPR".
Jay Bothroyd player of the year! pah ha ha ha.......the guy wont even have the chance to become player of the year at QPR with far better options in front of him. Man City game summed him up......lazy...weak and not that bothered.
I think a lot of people are giving Bothroyd way too much stick on here. When he's played, I would say he's done alright. Give the guy a break, he's said he wants to stay and fight for a starting place, so give him the chance!
Elliot42.....he has had a chance....a whole season.....there isnt smoke without fire and peoples critisism of im IMO is justified. If a player lacks ability then they should make up for it with hard work......but Bothroyd has the ability, he just chooses not to use it and doesnt look like he cares. I'm happy to see if he proves me wrong this season, but cant see it happening.
To be fair, he has the perfect manager to learn from at the moment...he really needs to bring some of the way Hughes played into his game...could see a massive improvement in him next season.
To improve, you have to be willing to work Jammers. This bloke has no more desire to better himself than the man on the moon.
I try and see the best in all our players but nobody who has seen him can say he's done alright over the course of the season. He had a stormer at home to City, did pretty well at Wolves and has otherwise done an artistic impression of a wilting flower.
He can hold it up alright but he can't run, turn or shoot. Must improve. Have to really fight for that place with all the strikers. Hulse is also fighting for his place but he keeps missing the gap in the changing room wall...
Dave. Agree with you and that's pretty much my point I'm trying to make on JB. Just always felt qpr were better when he played especially in first half of season and a small improvement in his attitude could yield a big gain in his performances. Could be questioned if he was someone who had the curse of Joey hanging over him. Strikes me he would be an easy target for him.
