http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...f-city-star-peter-whittingham-91466-31226480/ Doubtful whether we'll sell him or whether he will want to go. I could see the Baggies getting relegated this season... But it does say they are going to bid more than 3 million for him....
u`d expect him 2 fetch more money than what the walesonline fella guest.........wasnt he voted the best player outside of the prem.........surely thats aleast a five mil starting figure we dont need 2 sell but i suppose its up 2tha player these days..........if i were him i`d stick with us unless a team comes in for him thats qaulified for europe......other than that your just another whipping boy and no hoper for trophies and purely in the game for the gravy
I'd say £3 million is about right aber mate. He's a good player, there's no denying that, but untested at premier league level. Never know though.
But we've already rejected several bids of 3 million. Even though your right he is probably worth that (He was pretty poor second half of the season) the club will not sell him unless the bid is higher.
Even if they did bid for him; let's weigh things up here: He could remain at City and be our key player in the push for PL football OR he could move to the Hawthorns and be a fringe player (or squad player) in a team that are likely to be fighting for their PL lives. It could boil down to the money being offered to City and then (if allowed to speak to each other) the terms being offered to whitts. Personally I do not think that WBA will get passed Malky.
Wouldn't he be subject to the rumoured Ranson player mortgage? So we would need a significant deal to sell him on.
Another thing people are forgetting is that Whitts is a former Aston Villa player so if he was to go to the prem would he really go to the rivals of his boyhood club?
sounds like the usual crap we get at this time of the year to me no offence sheep...... if its tru then he's worth much more to us than £3m. far more. i would not sell for less than £5m, he's that important to us, if they dont like that price they can kindly eff off and find someone of better value
A player is always worth double a transfer fee to the club he's going from. Also, a player will go to rivals if the money is right, this is football remember.
ash with respect dude you bought graham for 3.5 and he was also untested at that level>>>>>>did he have best player outside of prem award at that time........peter scores goals from midfield and when the quality is there for all 2 see they dont come cheap....especially when the club who owns him dont want 2 sell
we dont need the money so if he does move we will get a great deal for someone we paid next 2 nothing for.....
Not wumming with this comment Aber, but when we bid for him, we were a Premier league team and Watford would have milked that, knowing full well we needed a good striker. Should we have remained in the PL, we would have got him cheaper. Plus, add to the fact he scored, what was it, 28 goals?
Depending on how much you value Premier League goals compared to Championship goals, Graham has probably scored the same roughly. Not a bad signing, will be worth the 3.5 million if he plays well this season.
you got a point ash but things have gone up since last year.....whitts aint going nowhere unless the price is right.....watford didnt have the finacial footing cardiff have at present either. he wont go for less than 5 so i think he be staying put
whitts wants to have a crack at premiership football for a long time and he has stayed at cardiff but he is coming to his last chance of ever making it and with the championship as it is it will be harder for cardiff this season than last with the teams that came down from the prem and the teams who came up from the first division. dave jones will get wednesday there or there abouts and with wolves, bolton, brum and middlesborough then its going to be a very hard season to get a top two place, will whitts want to take a chance on that or take the oppertunity to join wba.....i dont know but it wont be because he is a villa fan as that is rubbish...As for the price then if they offer £3million for him you should snap their hand off for that. you wont get £5 million in a month of sundays now ....you may have a couple of seasons ago but not now. £1.5 - £2 mill is pushing it today...
When Ernie left us to go to West Brom, the deal was done at MacDonalds here in Gloucester. I'll keep my eyes peeled fellas and report any activity.
