The Amex is an absolute bitch to get to as you have to drive into Brighton to get the Bus all the way out again! That's what you get when your town is run by the sandle wearing greeny-loons!

If that's the case I don't think Jewell would be broadcasting that to everyone before we had actually signed him! On second thoughts...

Honestly guys this is such a non-story! <doh> He was never a target in the first place! It was the scum owned Archant EADT that first wrote this story only to rubbish it and the club a few days later! I know Clegg and Jewell are pretty clueless but do you honestly think that they would have come out publically to declare him as their top target! <doh> Come on get a grip....!

<laugh> really? that's quite funny then. more likely that it was his agent though, trying to get bigger wages from brighton.

"ooh, ipswich have made him their top target! he wants to sign for you brighton, but if you don't give him what he is asking for then he has a great offer elsewhere", or something along those lines!

Would've been a good signing but the man I'd really like to see between the sticks next season is Paulo Gazzaniga. C'mon PJ!

Would love to see Loach at Town. I'm sure he'd have the best chance of fulfilling his potential playing for his own club.

tweacle, its pleasing to know that you have realised how mighty we were, sadly for you we will return to that status once again in the future, whereas you have never been/nor will you ever be MIGHTY!!

It's interesting reading other fans views on the Albion and the Amex on a thread that hasn't been set up by WUM, because you get some honest opinions for a change. As an Albion fan I would say I don't think it really matters who has the biggest/best ground/(other penis replacement), as any team in the championship won't be far off putting a side together capable of challanging for promotion.

One thing I would say about the Albion selling their image over the last couple of the seasons is its because the progess they've made in a short space of time is staggering. We were in a non league standard ground one season, and prem quality ground the next. I think it was a lot to take in for everyone conencted with Brighton, and people were and still excited about it. They've spent alot of money on the ground and the infastructure of the club in terms of staff etc. Personally I think it would seem pointless to go through all that if you're not going to sell yourself as best you can. But I don't think thats intended as a slight on anyone else or implying who's a bigger club than than the next.

One thing I would say to both Norwich and Ipswich fans in regard to their grounds, Brighton fans long coverted the new stadium, believing it would answer all our problems, and maybe to an extent it has. But personally I think the new stadium, new image and new fans has changed the club way beyond what we were. I don't think it's affordable to watch Brighton anymore and a lot of the things that made it great having a local team to go and watch aren't there anymore. One question any football fan who watches their club every week should ask themselves, is do you want them to be in the premier division, with big dreams, and big expensive plans that mean you can only watch them now and again, or do would you rather be able to watch them week in week out.

Other Brighton fans will slate me for saying all this but the ambition, image, stadium and attitude that some of you have pointed out is surrounding our team at the moment, in my opinion is what makes our club a lot less attractive than other teams in our division.

Braggfan, your post makes many valid points BUT it is way to clever for our pages!!

Actually what you say does make sense but surely the whole idea is to be as good as possible and to play at the highest level as possible, which sadly has its pitfalls as you have pointed out.

I wasn't trying to belittle your club but just felt that ITFC was a bigger club than yours, maybe things are changing and i'm probably living in the past and for that i apologise!! We are still a bigger club than the Budgies though!!

I would have thought the Ipswich fans would get on very well with the liberalness of Brighton society.
