Thanks for the info to find the link. Interesting. Although having read it there are a number of unanswered questions within it.

It states a vote of confidence by the board, however, from Stephen Constantine's own website (if genuine), he states on the 13th May, they had already asked him to renew his contract which ended on the 14th May. The only mentioned issue was that the club were not in a position to offer him anything at that time (to me that means financial). So are they just clarifying that (financial) situation and why no mention of renewal of Constantine contract? The club obviously love him and that would you assume make main headlines in that area of Cyprus. I think more importantly for me, why no mention on the clubs Salamina official site?

why is one of our directors who is supposed to be involved in the manager slection process in America at the time when interviews are taking place? I actually have no idea who the manager could be now. if you asked me a couple weeks back I would of said Mad dog, but couldnt even guess now.

Surely they must make a decision soon as it only now a few weeks till pre-season. The new manager isn't going to have much time to get to know his new team.

What Scally also said this morning, was that players we want will be available at the start of July. He has already said that the players won't be back for pre season until the 5th July, so a new manager won't be able to assess them until then anyway. Plus, I suppose if he doesn't employ anyone until July, he's saved another months salary. So it looks like no-one will be in place until at least the week after next.

The initial stages of pre season is all about fitness anyway right? So, maybe if a manager does come in when he says (5th of July, PLEASE not any later than that! ) then he/she/it can evaluate the squad and it's weaknesses there and then. I hope. We've lost quite a few players and squad depth was an issue last term, so I don't understand how that can be solved unless we sign a number equal to those that left or employ a fitness coach again.

I think a fitness coach is a must, or at least a manager who understands fitness. So many injuries last season was not just down to bad luck. I remember Hess saying last pre season that players will get fit by playing lots of friendlies. That showed his lack of knowledge about fitness levels. Some players will probably get and keep fitness levels through playing games, or playing games in training, but some won't. In all walks of life ,you get some people who put in 100% and others who just go through the motions. The one criticism that couldn't be leveled at Stimson's team, was lack of fitness. We won a lot of games late on with his fitness regeme, and thats whats needed now. I think if "mad dog" becomes manager,he's a stickler for fitness, and does a lot of it himself.

Yeah we need to assess Fitness as that is where we are always going wrong.

I thought that as well Oxon, but then I thought that Scally has said he has made no contact in the past and the next day it's happened. I'm not imagining that right? Come on calamity!

Still have the hope it could be Lee Clark but I very much doubt it, but you can dream.

It seems he'll be going somewhere; either Birmingham or us. Thing is there is a reasonable sector of Brum fans that do not like his tactical choices when he was at Huddersfield. Apparently he was always a keen believer in 4-5-1 and out of the 40 odd games they went unbeaten a large number of them were draws, and that's with a goal scoring talent like Rhodes in the side. I still think he's a quality manager but I think we may be able to get a cheaper manager, who is far more attacking (a trait I enjoy, as long as we employ the right defenders) that can get us out of this league. After we get out then we can re-evaluate. I'm not seriously suggesting James but I really do think Allen or something similar could be a right fit.

I think Clark will adjust to any club, at Huddlesfield he only really had one main striker then other than that he had Alan Lee. I think if he went to a club where they have more strikers he would play a totally different formation.
I think if he come to Gillingham he may deploy a totally different formation, I doubt 4-5-1 would be best for us so I don't think he would use it if he become our manager, but we will have to see, it will probably not be him.

Hoadie - what you talking about? Do you ever bother to even read other people's posts? Looking at the mess you've made of the England threads, every other post I doubt it. How is that a response to what gillslad69 said? Hoadie, do you actually even know anything about Lee Clark's time at Huddersfield, because that comment says you do not. I sense someone's hasty retreat to google coming on.

No I don't think I read his post properly and I obviously did not read mine as that did not make sense, but on the England board I was posting a bit to get the thread going as the more people who start to chat the more there may be by the game.
I want to build up at least a few people who chat on there all the time during the Euro's.
