So both the hosts Poland and Ukraine have gone out of the Euro 2012. The Netherlands have gone home not having won a single point in the group stages. Russia who thrashed the Czech Republic 4-1 in the opening group stages and who were strong prospects for this competition, also went home after being beaten by Greece. As for the Irish well they gave a good account of themselves as well by jumping on the earliest ferry.

What about that other British team, oops sorry the English? You know those underdogs that stood no chance and would be coming straight home after the group stages. That team that took a point off France, then went on to beat Sweden after being 2-1 down. So how are the English doing? Well I've heard some people moping about dodgy penalty decisions and being boring but guess what we are still ****ing in it! Get over it Europe and all you mopeys, be prepared to be ruled by the English.

Little ole England eh, don't you all just love us.

Could go either way against the Italians, win or lose. Or even a draw and penalties. Whatever happens, I'm gonna enjoy the run up to Sunday. Wearing my England top for work today. Come on England, the excitement is building now. Believe.

I think we will surprise Italy, I hope they go out there thinking it will be rather easy then we catch them out, it is important against them that we are in control as I don't think defensive play will work, play more offensive and we will win.

Defensive play has worked so far and if we go behind we can bring on the attacking subs as we did against Sweden.

Roys mantra is first play not to lose then decide whether to stick or twist during the second half.

Yeah maybe, just need to play a bit more like we did against Sweden in the first half where we took the game to them, but then by now as England fans we have to understand to win the game they do have to scare us and it is always an edgy game when England are involved, they like to make it hard for themselves, but then that is England and that must be the reason we love them.

I've been following them since the mid 70s and short of 1990 and 1996 this is the best time I can remember.

If we win the next 3 games 1-0 with 20% possession I'll be deliriously happy.

I know my time supporting them is much shorter, but I can remember the last 10 years and going into this competition we were the least confident we have been for a long time and the team looked weaker on paper than it has been for a while but for once we have players who find it an honour to play for the country and it shows the players who were classed the golden era have nearly all gone and we do better, I did doubt the tag 'Golden' The team seems to much better as a team now, before it was more about certain individuals.

So you mean either Spain or Germany.
Portugal may have Ronaldo but I don't think they attack too well most of the time.

to OP - this isn't a momentous achievement, we were expected to progress from the groups y'know, by no means 'underdogs' <doh>

What you not understand...I said NO mopeys. <whistle>

We were not expected to progress from the group stages and so many people were slagging of the squad. If we were not underdogs we might as well have been. The rest of Europe is in mourning at least until Sunday along with Blatter so a good reason to celebrate and put out all the flags. Unless your not of English blood of course <laugh>
