Here is my verdict on the match today:

Hart - 8 (Best England Keeper since Seaman).
Johnson - 6 (Did an Ok job going forward; his defensive positioning was questionable at times ,but it didn't cost us as they targeted Cole for some reason :S )
Terry - 7 (Our best defender today for obvious reasons; very solid too. Got frustrated with him at the start of the game though)
Lescott - 6 (not happy with his backwards passing and looked flakey at the start. But ended solidly)
Cole - 5.5 (not his best game, but did some vital defensive blocks)
Milner - 4.5 (shocker)
Gerrard - 6.5 (Passed the ball fantastically, still debatable if he can do his defensive duty though; sometimes switched off today)
Parker - 6 (Charged at everything late on; however did not press at the start... Note: he was our best player in the last 10 minutes though)
Young - 4.5 (Shocker, had one good attack though)
Welbeck - 5 (He went missing and lost the ball A LOT sorry).
Rooney - 5.5 (a bit rusty, missed and ended a few of our attacks, scored a tap in though which was harder than it looked)

Ox - 6 (came on late but set up a few attacks)
Walcott - 5.5 (Bit harsh as he came on late, But we didn't see much of him)
Carroll - 6 (Won the ball in the air, gave us another dimension late on)

Man of the match: Joe Hart
Biggest Flop: Ashley Young (Really wanted to see more out of him)

Rooney(apart from an easy headed goal)was piss poor and not worth a 7,Hart should be higher than a 6 due to a couple of fine saves that kept England's hopes alive.
And the official on the England goal line was deffo man of the match for England,without him it would have been a draw and Spain in the next round.

 

Perhaps it was an ironic 8?

 

I thought Young had a really decent game.

 

Then I think that you are in a very select few who did!

 

Hands up, all those who think Downing could do a better job...

I gave Young a 1 and he only got that for his one decent cross first half.

Agree with Gerrard getting 11 though a captains display if ever there was one

my ratings are 0/10 for all cos when they meet italy they will play a decent side, not a great side and the ture picutre will emerge.

England drew after scoring agaisnt the run of play v france and france had benzema playing elft full he was so bloody deep. sweden are muck and ukraine just poor. DOn't get carried away til they perform v italy.

with due repsect the germany, holland portugal group was like a cl group... england just qualified from a euopa standard group so lets see what they do.... avoiding spain is a huge piece of luck as france just didn't bother at all.

 

True, but what a goal by that **** Ibra though. That will be replayed for Euros and commercials for internationals for awhile.
