At least we'd have an excuse when we lose if it's 6v11! I didn't mean get rid of ALL the squad not mentioned, but I don't care which players go. Obviously.
So who is defo going to be here next season Schmeichel, Morgan, De Laet, Drinkwater, King, James, Danns, Dyer, Marshall, Nugent, Waghorn, Vardy They are the only players I am sure will be here next season Question marks hang over St. Ledger, Gallagher, Kennedy, Wellens, And will we be able to find a buyer for Jermaine Beckford? If we can't I wouldn't loan him and just leave him as an impact player to come off the bench. If we did loan him he would score a shed full for someone else
We'll take Beckford in a shot, unfortunately I think transfer fee would be the obstacle. How bout a swap deal for Becchio??? And it seems like theres a lot of mixed opinions regarding Peltier, but if he does turn out to be good (and we are actually signing him) then we could actually have more or less our first choice defence in place already for next season
Becchio is the most overrated leeds player I can remember. He doesn't do anything for the team, yes he runs around a lot but with no real direction or motive. He gives away so many fouls, his first touch and control are shocking, his flick-ons only work maybe 3 or 4 times out of 10. He will flick a header on although he KNOWS that he is the furthest man forward, what a ******. Beckford will score more goals than Becchio and will also give other defenders someone to worry about up front to keep tracking his runs which will give midfielders spaces to exploit. Seriously why do people continually overrate Becchio, he's ****ing pointless. The amount of chances that we create, he should score double what he does easily
Not confessing to know much about him but on the few occassions I have seen him this year, he always looked half decent. Surely he is worth more than £350k!
I'm with you there ...... the whole situation appears very strange .. we've just paid £1 million for a guy from the conference (I have no problem with that by the way) yet are willing to sell a young professional who did not have a bad first season with us and was Huddersfield's player of the year the previous season in L1 for half of what we paid for him ... must be more to this than meets the eye..
The reasons why Peltier is so cheap is because for starters we over paid for him. We shouldnt of paid any more then 500K, his wages doesnt match his ability. If he was on a sensible wage then we could sell him for his true value If Pelts is on 10K a week for example Leeds arent going to be interested paying him that because he isnt worth it. So paying us 1M on top of that they are going to run a mile. But if we put Pelts for 300K then Leeds would be prepared to pay Pelts a bit more in wages therefore we can do a deal. Cut priced deals are the only way we are going to be able to sell these players. Bamba was worth 3 times what we got, we are having to loan out Matt Mills and getting half what we paid for Peltier. Because it looks like Konchesky is heading back to the prem then we can probably re coup what we paid for him
1.5M was quoted by the media but then some agent said we got 70% off so the actually fee were not 100% sure
You can dress it up how you like? But selling Pelts and Bamba for almost the amount you pay for a non league player is not good business. I keep hearing talk of wages being the issue but at this rate gate receipts will be down too.I have got my season ticket and hope for the best, in truth I fear another season of mid table.
Where did all those assists come from in 10-11 when he was fit then? And don't tell me he has a poor conversion rate compared with Beckford. Minute-by-minute last season, he had one of the best strike rates in the division. Beckford, on the other had, consistently fluffed sitters game in game out when he's meant to be Monsieur Clinical. I don't doubt he's a good poacher of goals, but he contributes nothing else. His 'runs' are non-existent except when we're already causing the defence problems. He refuses to challenge for headers when he's being contested and has a lazy, selfish attitude. I love the guy, but it's time to move on from him. Becchio's knock-downs and flick-ons aren't as ineffective as you say they are, and he actually gives us a proper aerial presence in and around the box which we'd sorely lack otherwise, just like we lack his workrate whenever he's not playing and we have no-one to defend from the front. And I'm not taking that bullshit that we created loads of chances for him last season; there were many games where Snodgrass was the only creative outlet, and even he was struggling toward the end. He's scored more than Beckford in recent times, provided more and worked harder. Seriously beyond me why someone would exchange Becchio.
