Anywhere 12+ will do me, since its MON's first season and he will start to shape the squad to what he wants, then we can improve
I'm guessing you'll get a lot of "i'm not making any prediction" replies, but I'll throw mine in, NUFC 7th, SAFC 11th.
I wouldn't complain with that 2bh as it will be an improvement on last season but we will have a better indication when the transfer window shuts and all the clubs have there squads assembled. I personally think we will see at least 6 new faces arrive so it all depends if we hit the ground running, we certainly have a canny first 5 or 6 fixtures to get a decent start.
I had this argument with Cest a few weeks ago about new faces, my opinion was that you will not reach your potential this year with all the new signings that are anticipated, the Brucey bedding in period is actually real.
agreed but I would rather have a good team that is just getting used to playing together than an average one that has played together for a season.
As it stands, around 10-12th, but of course if we had a 15 goal striker that could easily become 8th. I think the Toon's Euro will affect them, but they will still be looking at 7th or 8th. Also agree with Poolie, i'm happy for a transitional season if there's clear signs of progress and an increase in quality.
Again I'm more interested in what I see on the pitch rather than the actual position. Would love top 10 but 11th up fine for me. I think we might get 9th. Most interested in seeing consistently good performances from the side. Sick of us chucking in a WBA after a few good matches and undoing lots of good work.
for me we need to... * Not go on a bad run at some stage unlike the last 3 season's * Reach 50points something we aint done since returning to the prem, that should be the target, if we do that then that should get us a top 10 spot. * Get to atleast the quarters of one of the cups * Consistancy, no point in taking points off the top teams then going to somewere like West Brom and getting battered and finally atleast 10points on the board by 6games
Prior to the Everton cup game our form under MON suggested Europe wasn't that far from our reach. Unfortunately I believe nearly all our players went into holiday mode after that defeat. If we can improve our mental attitude and with a full season under MON I expect a very comfortable season, more points than ever and possibly reaching 8th.
I'm not expecting much, an improvement on 13th and a season without any relegation fears at any stage will do me fine. I don't think we have the financial muscle to compete with the Mags at the minute, unfortunately.
