The crazy reports about Douglas got me thinking about who I rate as the looniest players I can think of....

    Grobbelaar

    Terry
    Thatcher
    Douglas

    Keane
    Barton
    Gazza
    Best
    Zidane

    Di Canio
    Balotelli

    Who would be in yours?

oooh, now this could be interesting and amusing. How are you defining Crazy/Bad boy ACS? Is it on-field bahaviour, or off-field antics? Or anything goes?

Eric Cantona would be in mine.

Paulo Di Canio was a bit mad also.

Zidane was one act of madness, and it was against REALLY annoying bloke. Surely Cantona's crowd kick was crazier?!

    Stan Bowles
    Francis Benali
    Temouri Ketsbaia
    Julian Dicks
    Tino
    El Hadji Diouf

Also, I seem to remember a full back for Southampton who used to get sent off all the time, but I can't remember his name.

There was also a striker who played for Reading or someone like that in the 70's who was faamous for his outrageous behaviour. I think he died destitute a few years back.

    Any ideas?

Di Canio and Cantona would have to be in any squad. Balotelli too but he has work to do if he wants to match up with those guys. I'd maybe have Temuri in too. He was defo touched. Edmundo, aka The Animal. Rene Higuita was an absolute loon. Robyn Friday. Maybe Cassano cause he is always falling out with his coaches!

Dada Maravilha is a good read for anyone. I'm not sure how much detail is on Wiki but I read up on him a while back. Supposedly the third top scorer in Brazilian league history and he is as entertaining as it gets. I think he has claimed alien abduction so this may interest you Korton/Mr Tiote!

Bumped into Stan Bowles quite a lot off the field and he seemed like a really nice bloke, a pussy cat if you like. He just went about his way without bothering anybody and was always happy to sign autographs for those that wanted one.

Mark Dennis was the Southampton guy. Sent off 12 times in his career!!

The Reading guy was Robin Friday. A seriously gifted player, voted their best ever player. However, an even more serious loon!! Look him up on Wikapaedia to see some of his "adventures"

Sad how so many talented footballers can't live with the fame they get and handle the amount of cash they get. So many of them turn to drink and drugs and ruin what could have been excellent careers as players and possibly managers after their playing days are over.
