There have been several positives during our barren spell but what would you say is the biggest positive. Some of the positives are consistent top four finishes despite losing some of our best players, the profit earned from transfers although not of much consequences to fans does however enable us to buy more in subsequent years, we also have considerable potential to draw upon considering our team is pretty young and will only improve whilst from an on field prospective despite lacking the fluidity of the past we have been consistently creating decent chances. I would however place consistent top four finishes as invaluable especially when it comes to consolidating our reputation for potential transfers and obviously adding financial muscle although at the same time the resources with which we have managed to achieve this also makes me proud to be an arsenal fan and gives long term stability.

In my opinion, you can't have pro's without con's, as they go hand in hand. Here it goes.

    Pros:
    Financial stability
Qualifying for Champions league year after year
    Good youth academy
    Young players coming through
    Buying good bargins
We have a lovely new stadium
    We still play good football
We still have one of the best managers around
We are one of the most profitable, self sustained clubs around

    Cons:
    Losing David Dein
    7 years without a trophy
All round team defense still shaky
losing our best players year after year
A total degrading of team quality
No longer competitve in the league
Season ticket prices some of the most expensive around
We have a board, CEO and Chairman, not willing to spend on transfers
    Is Wenger past it?

    Pro.

It's kept our wages bill down. Our cleaning lady doesn't have to spend an extra 2 hours a day with the silver polish :)

Not to mention the reduction in noise pollution, cash spent on booze, we will also reduce congestion charges and improve the environment by reducing harmful chemicals emanating from the exhaust....we are actually doing a great service to society and deserve some credit on that basis!

This should be a short thread <laugh> I suppose during this period one of the main positives is that we still have had memorable victories against top teams. We seemed to beat Man U pretty regularly and that first leg win over Barca was a great night. This, however, displays the main problem; we were so close to having a league winning side but we never pushed on with a couple of signings to bring us up to that level. I still fondly remember the first half of 2007/08 season when we were playing beautifully and I was sure we would win it.

Early 07/8 Arsenal played the best football the Prem has ever seen IMO; better than the Invincibles
