Morning all. Just trying to digest the fixtures. We couldn't have a harder start but onwards and upwards. We have to play them all, so why not start with the best?? Anyway, the reason for my post is I found an article on Reading's website about TV games. They say Sky and ESPN have set dates that they have to announce which games they're showing: August fixtures to 30 November - selections made between 20 June and 5 July December fixtures - selections made as from 17 Sept January fixtures - selections made as from 17 Oct February fixtures - selections made as from 19 Nov March fixtures - selections made as from 3 Jan April fixtures - selections made as from 30 Jan May fixtures - selections made as from 25 March (excluding last matches on Sun 19 May) So I reckon in the next 2-3 weeks we'll know if we've got any TV games.
Our opener v Man City will be a TV game; winners vs promoted as 1st game of the season; it's a dead cert for 12.45 on the Saturday.
Neither do I. Infact never been to an away game before even though I'm an ST holder. That's going to change this season though - I'm going to find a way to get to that Man City game and a few others.
I'm sure they play one on Friday evening as well as the season opener, that might be us. Which would be useful for me because I go away on the Saturday. To be honest I would be delighted if we were unnoticed by the media for as long as possible, I suppose it won't take long for Hansen and co to get his teeth stuck into us though. Never mind.
Didn't know that, if so yeah, that'll be us. So do I. I'll be happy with all the pre-season previews that put us in the bottom three...
That may be a bit of a mistake there Killer. In the last three seasons I have to been to more away games and seen more wins than I ever have previously. When we were in the top league before I hardly ever saw an away win (Man City was co-incidently, one of the few I witnessed). I can't help thinking that for the time being at least, you may have missed an opportunity for a happy away day.
well I hope so as I'll be in Ireland that weekend. Taking a cheap holiday by going over to stay with wife's family .... if we'd been at home on the 18th, it wouldn't have been a cheap holiday as me and the boy would have been flying home!
It was only part way through our first season in L1 that I stopped working Saturdays - last season was my 1st as an ST holder & getting to away days wasn't a priority as Life was getting in my way. Really this season is probably the 1st I've ever been able to get to away fixtures.
Manchester City vs Southampton will be the first to be announced on TV, either Saturday 12.45pm or a Monday 8.00pm game
Been digesting it slowly throughout the day. I think it is better to get last season's top three out of the way early before teams realise Saints are not in the PL to make up the numbers.
I think my favourite TV Game is Takeshi's Castle. It's so random! I also like Crystal Maze. What a show!
I just hope that our game at home to Spurs is not changed to the Sunday! Otherwise I am going to have to complete the Great South Run in the blue half, finish jump in a taxi, get a train to the Red & White side for the game. Ha! Mission!
