I dunno how you guys turn these potential signings up. I find it hard enough keeping track of everyone in the Prem!
Just read this thread and there is no need for comments like this, if you don't like it don't read it simple,no need to kill the thread on a rant about how it doesn't interest you. Poolie mate, think he would be a good signing and read he has a 3.8m buy out clause, don't stop posting your articles because I for one enjoy reading them.
Burak Yilmaz was tipped for greatness at a young age, played at Istanbul giants Besiktas + Fenerbahce but only really made his breakthrough under Senol Gunes at Trabzonspor. Now if you haven't heard of Gunes he was the manager who took Turkey to 3rd place in the 2002 World Cup. Yilmaz really developed into the player he is now under Gunes and Guus Hiddink who was full of praise during his time at the head of the Turkish NT. As for Burak Yilmaz, he's been the best striker in Turkey for two seasons now, tall, strong, athletic build, makes good forward runs, gets behind the last man and can finish. 19 goals season before last, 35 this season, 26 years old, £4m min.fee release clause, whoever signs him is getting a bargain.
Also regarding the ease of scoring in the Turkish league, its actually quite a rough/physical league, referees tend to allow 'rough' play.
A quick look at his stats tell you if is pretty decent. 93 career goals in 270 games. 57 goals in 91 games for current club Trabzonspor. 27 next month? £4m seems very low for those stats imo?
£4m is his minimum fee release clause, he's excelled at Trabzonspor lately, the fee is low but this club has a history of losing their best players on the cheap. Galatasaray signed Selcuk Inan from them on a free transfer last season and he went onto become one of the leagues best players and played a key role in their championship success.
Aye, looks like a good deal. Tell him to bring his mates. Can always use an extra kebab shop! Our local's run by turks and their doners are tip-top
Will he not then just opt to move to a bigger Turkish club rather than a move to England and the mental and physical pressures of the EPL? I'm very unsure about the foreign marketplace, despite the craas good use of it. If you offered me Fletcher for £8m or this lad for £4m I'd take Fletcher,as we know exactly what we are getting and he wont need any time to settle in to a new culture or language? We can ill afford new signings to spend the next 6 or 7 months coming to terms with their moves imo. We need immediate impact players from August 18th onwards.
I personally think we need 3strikers, Fletcher certainly being one of them, Campbell being the 4th and Wickham and Ji going out on loan. If one of the other 2 is a experienced premier league player I think we can afford to have someone like Yilmaz as the third. From time to time its worth taking a gamble, Newcastle have made plenty of gamble signings over the last couple of season's and 4-5m for this lad would be a gamble worth taking IMO. He certainly knows were the goal is.
