Fixtures out this Monday

I think that fixture list is atrocious for us. We have some tough fixtures to open with and lots of teams I'd expect us to be in and around at the end, and possibly the worst Christmas period I can think of. Wigan on the 1st will be a must win. Fixture lists like this make the winnable games MUST win, and will see us suffer momentum wise all year.

It's nice to start and end at home, though, but I could quite easily see us having 1pt from our first 4 games.

 

We could have some of our games moved to a Sunday if we win our Europa League play-off games and make it through to the group stages.

 

What are the chances of the Villa home match moving further down the pecking order? Have a two week holiday booked which falls neatly within that time-frame

Only two top five / six team games in the last three months ($ity and Le Arse).

Home games to start and finish.

Bit crap over Christmas like but I'll take that for the other positives.

First game against Tottenham, we could actually be getting a very hard game over early if they do well but it takes a few competitive games for them to settle, as it might with a new manager.

We don't have a derby very early or late in the season, so not when we might still be getting up to speed or when we desperately need a result - although I acknowledge the fact we beat them in game two last season lol.

Could have been better of course and the strength of any given team is speculation really, but it could have been worse.

 

Can see the first 6 home games being changed either for TV or because of European commitments.

 

Importantly, the majority of our games immediately after we've played in Europe are at home and are winable. (manure at home and fulham away looking like the toughest on paper).

I think that's a decent set up for you lads.

If you beat Spurs you have an instant advantage over them taking you into a tough game at Chelsea with confidence, then hapless Villa at home who Lambert or not, you will outclass.

Even if you had 4-6 from the first 3, you'd have a good platform.

Just a quick question can anyone tell me the last time we played Tottenham at home on the first day and Arsenal at home on the last day (extra rep for the first person to give the correct answer).

 

if we win every game it's all a moot point anyway.

Hilarious we will be in the relegation places after 2 games and then we will struggle all season.

Easy starts are better because winning becomes a habit. Once weve lost the first two people will go missing, the confodence will be gone and people will say Pardew should be sacked.
