We are premier league and its killing the Cardiff centered press, thought i would read through some of their articles and bask in the glory of the Swans Appointing a Legend as manager and see what nice things they say about him but of course the Wales on Sunday are having none of that!!

An article that states the obvious and just tries to deflate the positve vibe creaed by Laudrups appointment, an article that has a mis leading headline that sucks you in before you endure 3-4 paragraphs of negative words.

All us jacks know the minus points of Laudrup, truth is there will be minus points with ANY manager we appoint, i include heavyweight managers like redknapp in this aswell, we all know the pit falls of a having a new manager, it doesnt matter who it is there is always an element of risk involved.
It seems to me that certain memebers of the Cardiff press are hopeful of Laudrups failiure, they cannot enjoy the good aspects of this deal they just want to damp down any kind of optimism where the swans are concerned.

If you want facts, informed reading and balanced views avoid the Wales on Sunday (unless you support cardiff)
check out the article from Sid Lowe of the Gaurdian below, a great read and one that embraces what the swans are trying to acheive.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2012/jun/15/michael-laudrup-swansea-city

Compare this with the bitter article from wales on sunday from delme fuc£witt

    http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/football-news/2012/06/17/91466-31199139/

**** the cardiff press, they are so jealous of the swans, doesnt matter how we do this season, doesnt matter where we finish or how laudrup does the last 2 years has proven what most of us knew, the total biased media representation towards the football club and city of cardiff. Delme Parfett you are a ****** and should just stick to talking about Rugby as you have no clue about football, which is probably why you get given a story to write about us.

If you want to read about the Swans you have to follow the English press to get fair reporting, who ever thought that would ever be the case ??

"Wales on Sunday",now there's a misnomer,if ever there was one. Cardiffcentric to it's core.and clearly proud of it.

I only ever purchased it the one time, thought I'd give it a chance.

The following day I used it to line the bottom of my budgerigars cage.

Within 24 hours the bird had gnawed through the bars of said cage and escaped, never to be seen again.

Terrific Guardian article, and I really enjoyed reading the comments, many of which came from non Swansea fans. Some of which brought tears to my eyes.

When i was in the auto paint trade, before the onset of rolls of masking paper and masking machines,we used newspapers. The old style broadsheet papers were great for windscreens and tabloids for windows/quarter lights etc.I always used a combination of Evening post so you could have a decent read at the same time, and The Sun for ornamental purposes.Used The Wesern Mail once, but it was far to flimsy and transparent.and was always in danger of getting overspray bleeding through it ,usually blue or red

Yes, Vetch, great article and it makes me proud to see the respect, and even affection, afforded to us by fans of other clubs - many of whom are our rivals. Proud, proud, proud to be a jack.

"the respect, and even affection, afforded to us by fans of other clubs - many of whom are our rivals".

    Well said there,Ivor.

It is this acknowledgement, more so than the fact that we are in The Premier League, that is crippling Cardiff fans so much.

They have never known such accolades, never felt the respect, admiration and, yes, affection,of their rivals.

Remarkable that "the peg makers" can be held in such high esteem. <whistle>

An honourable profession then,is "peg making". :cheesy:

Western Mail probably a tad cheesed off that the Cardiff home blue kit has gone and that the oversees investment there basically covers an ongoing massive debt...complex .

Exclude Chris Wathan from this ,who in my opinion reports very positively on Wales' number one club Swansea City:)

I couldn't care less what the Cardiff press think.
Swansea City FC are known throughout the land and have a high profile. This is due to the national media, the tabloids, MOTD, Sky etc.. Every one of these sing the praises. We are respected and admired by fans of other clubs as well as people working in the media. Being in the Premier League has elevated our status now onto a world wide stage too.

The only people who try to avoid what's staring them in the face is the Cardiff based media. It's got to the stage that they try not to report on us at all. Given the fact that Wales is a small country they should be hanging their heads in shame that they don't even want to acknowledge that a far better run club 40 miles away is doing Wales proud in the biggest league of them all.

A good benchmark for the consensus of feeling in Cardiff is on our rivals board. Pop along for a visit and see what they're saying. As a whole it appears that it is eating away at the city of Cardiff that the city of Swansea has something that they cannot achieve, a Premier League team.

I've said it before and I'll say it again,

We Are Premier League They Are Not And It Is Killing Them !!

It is written by a wrexham reserve supporter so what do you expect??? the thing he got right is there are no guarantees in football but that goes for anything in all walks of life. He says he will be amazed if we finished above 11th place,, well surely in his first season with us then his job is just to keep us up, after all he is new to the premiership and it will take this season to find his feet and not bloody well win it.....I would rather have a guy like laudrup who has won things and played at the highest level a player can achieve to pass on his knowledge and skill than someone like Malky who is good at his job but cant relate on what it is like to be a superstar that has done it all and got the t-shirt to prove it....

It's just someone's opinion and it doesn't really matter. Even many Swans fans think that we'll struggle this season, so the article isn't saying much worse than that. Juts ignore it if you don't like it. It's not important. Focus on the swans and positive things. There's no need to focus on negative press. Why do you even care?

And you all know what pride comes before? Let's concentrate on winning games and cementing premiership football. Rather than worry what other teams' fans think of us

The obvious solution is if we all use their comments section to point out the poor journalism. I would imagine that after a few months of relentless criticism they will change their ways

Seems like a bit of a waste of time. Ignoring them is the best solution.
