"We should have made more of an effort to bring Borini here in the first place". My recollection is that Borini had already committed himself elsewhere,so there was not an awful lot that the Club could have done to retain his services/sign him, even if they wanted to.
He would have never considered coming to Swansea as a regular to start with , no matter what effort was put forward . Easy to play the blame game when impossibility enters the fray .
From his comments after the playoff final he regretted his decision to go to Parma but he's done well since.
To answer the original question He was great with us in the Championship and he has been OK in a substandard Roma team. Cant help but think if he could have cut it in the premiership at the higher end of proceedings then Chelsea would have kept him.
If we had Borini this season I think we would have finished top 6, natural goal scorer, worked hard and made excellent runs and scored a lot!
I'd be gutted if Liverpool got Borini!......... But money talks as they say, seems there is some mileage in this rumour, oh well at least we get to see him play, even if it is for the scousers!................................ He was the difference between us being in the championship and prem. He was so important for us in the last part of the season, without him I doubt we would be in the premier league now.
Already a thread from another Liverpool fan on page two of the forums mate. HERE Basically he's quality and will just get better, anything less than £10m and it will be a bargain I would think. Mods - you want to merge?
The strongest rumours right now are confirmed interest (and bid) for Sig and for one Milos Krasic of Juventus. So... that's one ex-Swan. Undecided on Borini, I like him but I don't think I could stand another disappointment
Don`t know if this will make it clearer for those interested. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/talksport-borini-future-doubt-video Then there`s this one http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/120622/rodgers-keen-former-chelsea-striker-175002 Pretty much clear as mud.
