Is anyone else getting annoyed with Vettel constantly getting pole posistion. I will admit what a great driver he is and yes he has a faster car but I would love to have seen Webber, Hamilton or Button grabbing pole. With 1 tenth in it I feel that with a possibility of rain tommorow Vettel may struggle because of very little testing in the wet. If Hamilton and Webber are on Vettel's back tommorow then we are hopefully in for a brilliant Race! Cmon Hamilton! Cmon Button! I would love a Mclaren 1-2
When his car his very dominant, a Vettel pole frustrates me - especially with the finger. When he gets pole by a small margin against another team, I respect him for that. He was simply the better driver.
Haha. You could barely place a cigarette paper between the top four. It's set for a thrilling race, reminds me a lot of Turkey last year. If it's dry any one of four could win it, if it's wet... well it'll probably be abandoned but you never know.
Its a bit annoying because racing from pole is too easy, I want to see him tested a bit further back down the grid. However lets look at the positives: Its a very long straight until turn one. McLaren were 1 tenth down and its only race 2, in Australia they were well over a second off (if Red Bull had KERS). They keep this up and its just a matter of time before we stop seeing the Red Bull engineers jumping around like they've just beaten Schumacher's 7 world championship record when its just Qualifying. The moment McLaren are on even terms with Red Bull, I expect Lewis and Jenson to leave Vettel and Webber miles behind.
Red Bull and Mclaren have very similar cars today. Vettel was just the superior driver. 2010 is seeming to be the better year, as now its only a 2 way fight.
@Lewis the f1 legend Stick to football mate... Even after struggling in practice he still gets a tenth more out of his car than lewis who had near perfect practice days. Just the car?? It don't look that way mate, Vettel is outclassing Lewis and the fanboys are going mental because of it lol.
An interesting observation. I also believe McLaren have the best driver line-up and in fact that this is why they have out-performed Ferrari, who appear to be losing their way; very often a product of drivers not working well together. For his own sanity, Massa should pack his bags sooner rather than later.
He is! http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A834123627. It was ok when he and Fred thought Hamilton was nowhere now they'll be crying into their Hamilton hate youtube sites. Fred, Lorca - The Red Bull is still a faster car, Vettel is not superior. Now put the knife down hahahahaha! But back on topic, he'd be tolerable if it wasn't for that stupid finger and speeches. Other than that I quite like him.
With any luck Vettel and Hamilton have clobbered their tyres in the pursuit of pole. With luck Webber and Button will have slightly better tyre wear to start on. Assuming the guys take off in the pole order the leading 2 will be giving their tyres a workout. Now what will be interesting is whether Button goes for 'box' before Hamilton and throws a surprise spanner in the works. You can bet on the others quickly covering his move, wondering why. Might be interesting.
Bergkamp: According to the official F1 website (I don't know how they'd know this by the way) Button took too much out of his rears on his out lap and that's why he was slightly off the pace. I don't thin any of the top four will manage much more than six laps, it'll be crucial where they all feed back into the midfield who may be starting on hards and will be pitting later.
Mcwilliams, the Red Bull wasnt superior, Vettel was. The cars are basically the exact same. If Vettel was in Mclaren he would have gotten pole. Dont be sore about it. The Mclaren and Red Bull are in a different league...
Is that something they can change in Parc Ferme? I think it's just repairs but I'm not sure. That's not really ideal. It's the rears that are going off so that won't help his degradation, you also wouldn't want it oversteering too much if/when it rains. On top of all that it made him go slower as well. They scored a bit of an own goal doing that, I think it was done between the two timed runs in Q3 as well.
Am not sure McLaren are as yet, on par with RedBull, closer yes.Certainly McLaren have much better qualifying pace now, which they struggled with most of last season (although over race distance they gradually closed the gap to RedBull). I agree that for Malaysia both teams seem to have an edge over their rivals, (mostly noteably Ferrari) but remember this is just race 2 of 19 or 20 races and there will be many more twists and turns ! If McLaren DO get on equal terms with RedBull, then we shall see what Vettel is made of.
Hmm. I found this comment interesting. Then I thought, "how do I reply without using the word 'garbage'? ". Then I found myself writing this, probably with no answer that you would find plausible. And for that reason Fred, what you said is either true and beyond my present capacity to understand, or it is utter garbage. Vettel did a great job. My congratulations to him; it was a great lap. However, my belief is consistent with most of my colleagues: at present, the Red Bull is the superior car - and by some margin!
Sorry Absolutely G, assuming you understand the Parc Ferme regulations, I don't understand the question.
