Again, the competition is being kept simple. Please check the Rules below. Anyone who wants to play can join in at any stage. A new thread will be created for each day's betting and will show for each entrant the bank balance (if any) carried forward from the previous day. Please place your bets on the appropriate thread The Royal Ascot Betting Competition Rules 1. At the start of the competition you will have a bank of £1,000 to bet with throughout the meeting on any of the races at the meeting 2. Bets may be placed throughout the meeting but all bets to be advised, on the competition thread, at least 5 mins before the relevant race 3. All bets to be single bets, win or ew, and will be settled at SP 4. All bets must bear the name of the horse and the race time 5. If the named horse does not run in the named race it will be deemed a NR (ie the stake will not automatically be placed on the same horse if it runs in a different race) 6. If a bet is made on a horse in a race not in the competition the bet will be void 7. You may only bet with money remaining in the bank 8. For the purposes of this competition the place aspect of all ew bets will be at 1/4 odds and will apply as follows: 2-4 runners No place betting allowed 5-7 runners 1st and 2nd one quarter the odds 8+ runners 1st, 2nd and 3rd one quarter odds Handicaps 16+ runners 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th one quarter odds Handicaps 25+ runners 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th one quarter odds Number of runners for determining odds will be the number of runners as returned by the Racing Post
