I think they usually try and reduce travelling on Boxing Day...so Reading or a London club would be good.
Indeed. There's a difference a difference between predicting and random guessing. This is the equivilant of sticking your hand into a hat of 20 names, and seeing what you pick out.
the probability of getting the three correct is 1/38 x 1/37 x 1/36 which is 0.00001976 or as near as dammit 2 in 100 000 or 1 in 50 000. These three fixtures have 50 000 possible permutations. So this question is a bit of a big ask. I am going to go for our first League match being at home. At least I have a fifty fifty chance of being right. As I am not young enogh to know everything I leave it to you lads who have just sat your A level Maths to correct my calculation.
Not quite true,as the boxing day fixture wont be against a Northern side, and will almost certainly be Chelsea,Arsenal,Spurs,Fulham,QPR,West Ham,Reading or Swansea. My predictions are A Sunderland H QPR A Everton
Newcastle at home would be my ideal first fixture. Similar to Leeds, big name but because of the party atmosphere would also be considered winnable and lay down a marker to the rest of the league. Boxing day spurs away Final fulham away Off to buy my season tickets
You are quite right so that will reduce the odds slightly. Swansea is about 170 miles away so is unlikely. If I had to put money on it I would say that our boxing day game is likely to be home or away against Reading. Suits me either way.
Saints fans just been interviewed on Sky. One chap wants ManU away because we will lose a lot away and we'll lose to ManU so get it over with....has he forgotten our decent record against them A female supporter wanted Liverpool at SMS because they were about the same level as us and it would be a good test...love the confidence.
The new fixtures will become known and we can start to dream of the prospective visitors to our hallowed turf. It will really come home to us that we are back in the land where we hope to stay for a considerable length of time. At present just seeing the big names with our name in opposition is something that I have been looking forward to with keen anticipation. Don't know about you all, but I am becoming more excited at the thought that our plans can be made for the next few months. Time will tell but the nearness of it all is at last making my poor old heart beat a little quicker in anticipation. I haven't even considered yet how difficult some games will be. Just seeing our name in the fixture lists will do for now.
I'm getting apprehensive. I have enjoyed our high win rate and am not looking forward to dropping more points. It's been an enjoyable lull before the storm. Exciting times though.
I'm not even going to know untill 2 when I'm home (although that doesn't stop me coming on here at college)
Luckily I'm not working tomorrow morning...will be there with my work schedule beside me. Just hope it works out better than last season.
