Why is everyone so hard on Rednapp ?... He's a great manager with a track record of improving any player he works with, taking the best players from other teams (like Pienaar) and making them a success at the new club. He's extremely loyal to the cause and always overachieves given the budgets he has available to him. He's particularly good at managing clubs through difficult situations and seeing them through to the end. It's not his fault that the clubs he works for end up having money problems (he's very responsible in the transfer market) and certainly doesn't himself believe what is written in the Sun.. I really don't understand why there is such an anti Harry Rednapp emotion. I hope we see much more of him and wish him plenty of success for his future...
Except Traore, Lauren, Utaka, Diop, Burchill, Crowe, Vincent, Diabate, Pitt, Robinson, Bradbury, Barret, Kawaguchi, Cooper, Nightingale, Vine, Tardiff, Pettifer, Burton, Edinburgh, Faye, Wapenaar, Duffy, Curtis, Mornar, Olzar, Pulis, Hunt, Keene, Guatelli, Mezague, Ashdown, Vignal, Karadas, Mbesuma, Songo'o, Fuller, Olisedebe, Routledge, Diao, Douala, Mvuemba, Aubey, Baros, Nugent, Little, Hughes and Cranie. And that's only Portsmouth. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. Nugent was one of the best players at Preston and he only became a success at Pompey under Cotterill, Diop was one of the best players at Fulham but he was a flop at Pompey, Diomansy Kamara was a main forward at Modena but was barely a sub under Redknapp, Fuller was a star at Preston but a flop at Pompey, Olisedebe had been one of the best players at Panathinaikos but not at Pompey. Unless the money dries up then he'll jump ship quicker than you can blink. He's only got loyalty to himself. Like he did at Southampton, or during his final years at Bournemouth. Like spending over £100million at Pompey and bringing in only enough to make about a £9million profit? Which was clearly not enough to even cover the wages of half the first team. So yeah. Really responsible spending there. To be honest, having written all this in response, I'm not sure whether you were taking the piss to begin with. But to answer the question; if nothing else it is Redknapp the person that people hate more than Redknapp the manager. As a person Redknapp is a habitual lier, an egomaniac and someone more than willing to court the media to sing his own praises and get what he wants, someone who is fully prepared to undermine his boss and turn fans and the board against each other, all the while playing the cheeky chap/Del Boy like character he established years ago and washing his hand of any responsibilty for the discord he caused and acting like the victim, like he has no idea how anything bad could have happened despite his part in it.
I dont like Harry like the rest of you. However I dont really like everyone taking the piss out of his twitch. Like I'm not against abit of banter and stuff but at the end of the day theres nothing he can do about that and theres soo many things which he has done which deserve him getting stick why dont we focus on that stuff?
I would like to award 10 out of 10 to those who identified the correct answer as a) Yes, he is joking... Can't stand the man and have been celebrating the news at work for the last 2 days. God awful manager who's reputation has been built on Bournemouth beating Man Utd back in the day while a host of relegation and financial meltdowns are some how overlooked... I still break out in sweat at the thought of Callum Davenport on the team sheet...
Jamie Redknapp was one of the worse players Harry brought. Heard he was on 30k a week , then Harry gave Jamie some inside info that he was about to leave us. So Jamie put a bet on
People talk about Redknapp's spiritual home being Pompey, but I always understood it was actually AFC Bournemouth. He's even considered buying the club in the past.
I literally stopped reading there. Redknapp is not a great manager. In fact he's not good or even average. He's poor and tactically inept
He spent over £100 Million on transfer fees at Spurs. Knowing him they're going to be on high wages aswell. With the vast difference in income between the Champions League and the Europa League I wonder how the White Hart Lane coffers will manage......
