...: - Who will our first game be against? - Who will we play on Boxing Day? - Who will we end the season against? My predictions are Tottenham away, Fulham at home and Liverpool away. Predictions?
What is this, the name random teams thread? - Who will our first game be against? I don't know, it could be literally any one of the other 19 teams so it's pointless to just say a random name. - Who will we play on Boxing Day? We always seem to be away first and last games of the season when we're in the Prem. Pretty sure when we were in the football league we were home at the start and finish
I have just discovered that the barstewards (otherwise known as my employers) are opening on Boxing Day and I'm due in, so I just have Christmas Day off as I work Christmas Eve. So as I am never selfish and only wish others the best, I HOPE WE'RE AWAY ON BOXING DAY!!!!!
Hi Fran. You need to have a strong word with your employers. They need to show you some Christmas spirit!
Have to say that my immediate boss has been great when I nearly had to give up work with physical problems. He made adjustments and reduced my hours and kept me in work, so I shall not rock the boat over this. But I do think it is wrong that shops (driven by customers) erode Christmas for a group of workers exhausted by the run up to Christmas followed immediately by the sales. Believe me we need those two days off.
Best time ever when the fixtures come out can't wait. Think we will have a massive club eg Chelsea, Man Utd / City for our first game .
Is it better to get a 'big club' first or start with a team that we could realistically beat? I know that sounds defeatist but this is a big step up and I'd rather start with a good result, perhaps taking points off a relegation candidate.
Let's think about this. Surely it's best to draw a big team in the first game? They might be a little tired from the Euros and some big teams start slowly at the beginning of the season whereas the promoted teams quite often start brightly. It gets them out the way as well
If we get a big club and win it's great, if we get a relegation candidate and lose it's terrible! I doubt the order of the fixtures makes much difference.
Let's make it 4 years in a row having our first game on TV so would have to be a big club... I'll go Chelsea
