Jordan Henderson Wins Top Award

Does anyone else think that Jordan Henderson was a waste of money?? Even Sunderland fans were surprised at the transfer fee. Can't believe he is now playing for England!

It's fashionable to knock Henderson for some reason. He's a decent and versatile young player who will improve. His main crime seems to be that he isn't Michael Carrick.

 

His main crime is to have played **** but still made the England team. Not his fault he got selected though.

 

Watched the game in a boozer near me and the groans when he came on were hilarious

I know better players skill wise that nuf and safc scouted however he was liked because he's bigger. Spain have little skilled players we need to move on as the game has changed.

 

He's young, played out of position in a team performing terribly.

Otherwise a decent passer, great engine and potential. Needs to become more creative but he has time.

Feel a bit sorry for him (emphasis on a 'bit'...), don't think he's exactly the next coming of Steven Gerrard and the high profile transfer fee has not helped him at all. If he had stayed at Sunderland or moved to a smaller club than Liverpool for something like £5-8m (ie, if there wasn't a ridiculous premium on English players) then he would have been able to quietly improve and be seen as a decent potential England player of the future rather than a figure of ridicule.
