"All good thanks, good to see an old name dropping by." Attempted mayhem on JA (lots of fire-fighting) . "I think we all accept that whilst it's a risk, Levy has his reasons." I really would like to know them, good or bad. If only for closure. As I have stated elsewhere, Redknapp appears to have snatched a P45 from the jaws of a comfy PL stewardship.
As an outsider, i'm very surprised that soggychops got the boot. As has been mentioned, he must have crossed a few lines. Moyes or Martinez won't work for Spurs, imo. Good luck
Nobody who's managed a club like Wigan could manage Spurs. Moyes is a non starter for me. Let's contact the Germans.
i understand what you mean here Thor......but who? i mean realistically who? Klopp? i suppose he has achieved alot already with BD..so maybe someone could twist his arm to try it in another top league? where was Klopp before the last few years..i didnt really follow him much.
Lennypops said what I'm thinking, and wrote it better. How quickly people's expectations are changed.
Harry still thinks he did no wrong! http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/7813019/Harry-CL-had-no-effect Redknapp, who also said he is keen to stay in football management, does not believe being linked with the England job had anything to do with his departure. He said: "None whatsoever, no. I kept my counsel about that all through. Yeah whatever Harry- translation means I told everyone except the chairman.
I thank you for letting me know that I'm not alone. I was starting to feel like I was the only one here who had a memory longer then four months or who thought that a manger of a football club should be judged on football matches or that bizarre and novel-sounding managerial appointments are not somehow going to overcome the HUGE financial advantages that several teams in the EPL enjoy. I'm just so tired of saying obvious stuff to people today who would rather enjoy total ****ing fantasy talk about how AVB or someone is going to make Spurs title challengers. Or how, given a sufficient amount of time, we will do better without Harry. Well - duh - yeah - some point in the future ever I think Spurs will do better than fourth. Sacking the manager who has made that thought not laughable is apparently the way to achieve it... I'm seriously feeling alienated due to all the bullshit that I'm reading on here today. "Harry says silly things in the press!" Oh ****ing grow a pair! Are you so delicate that this has ANY effect on you? turn your ****ing computer off if it pisses you off and don't turn it on again until we've played a game in August. I actually blame the internet for most of what is being said about Harry today. Everyone's got to have an opinion every five minutes about every minutia of information that our poxy computers give us. Talk of "fiascos" in relation to the England speculation! I mean - these people are Spurs fans?! You'd think they'd know what a fiasco looked like!
Lenny, I have consistently been in agreement with you on these issues (was considering LennysDisciple as my username ) but I do feel it is not worth debating anymore, cause he's gone. If I could decide on the next manager of Spurs it would be Harry, a lot of what grates on others - press etc - has never bothered me. But that isn't going to happen so we need to look forward. We have to hope and believe Levy has a plan to take us forward, but even if it goes tits up, I will still be cheering on Spurs.
Cheers mate. And you're right - I've got to let the debate go now. I know this sounds stupid but I'm not ready to get my teeth into thoughts about the next manager so I'm still obsessing on this - just screaming at the void now really... I wish I could join in with thoughts about who the next boss should be and, like you say, look forward. I never even LOVED Harry that much but now I feel like I'm in mourning! Not for Harry but for the feeling like Spurs were going somewhere. I hope I'm wrong but I have a life-time of mid-table memories and I have a horrible feeling that we could end up back in the position of looking at the table in February/March and thinking "Well, with a decent run-in we could sneak a European place!". Okay - I'm gonna try to stimulate some hope, try some self-therapy: I really want David Moyes as Spurs manager, I really, really want David Moyes as the next Spurs manager. If Harry can get us into the CL so can Moyes. Moyes is quality. He's done great things for Everton. He makes good signings (does he?). Moyes is s step up. He doesn't look like that evil hobbit thing - he looks a bit like Mark who I used to play football with. Mark was alright. David Moyes is alright too. I like David Moyes. I am full of hope and confidence. We have always been at war with Eurasia...
I also have a lifetime of midtable memories and false dawns etc, but Spurs Disciple is right, we have to move on. I loved having Harry as manager of our club, but I am confident we will go onwards and upwards.
lenny it's Spurs! you know roller coaster! Just when we are on the brink of something! We are all used to it. Deep down we love the uncertainty, I was starting to get bored when we went on the early season unbeaten run. Something was nagging at me; this isn't right I thought, we keep winning, I am not feeling tense in the last 20 minutes of a game. Then just as I was beginning to worry that we might actually win something, normality resumed. Ah! yes this I understand, what are you doing? put the ball in the net FFS. How can we lose to Norwich Oh! hang on it IS Spurs. OK bring on the next game, where is that beer?
Very good. You know I almost googled that. "Who are these Eurasia characters then? Never heard of...oooh"
