I have an HTC Desire HD and I love it, although the battery life is crap. I suspect the massive screen doesn't help.

Mate, syncing Apple **** is as easy as getting Syd excited over dog porn, seriously.

I have a Sony Vaio, getting an iPhone doesn't mean shelling out for a Macbook or iPad, as adding iTunes to a PC is a piece of piss, then all it is is one cable in to a USB and your iPhone is synced.

Once it's in, it's all drag and drop.

Problem with the battery is it's in built, it's more a cell than a battery, you can increase it by using less apps, and they have done a couple of software updates since the 4s came out that have definitely help.

Don't be put off, the battery would easily last a full day in general, for normal use.

How much is a 4s in England nowadays?

I paid, wait for it..... €840(?!), on an 18month contract, AND the ****ers had the nerve to take €600 deposit as I'd only been resident in Spain 8 months!

My 4 in England was £50 or summat through o2, but that was 1000mins, and free unlimited 3G and Text.

Here, for €34 a month, i get 300 mins, free texts and data, but calls to another Spanish network are about 30cents a minute, they are years behind tariff wise!

A blank handset here has just dropped to around €800, they were well over a grand when I took mine out.

Thing with the iPhone battery is there are ways of extending it. If you go into settings and turn off all (cept things like maps, facebook etc) location settings, and notifications, you can make the battery last longer. Also, double click the home button down the bottom and turn off all the open apps, as when they are running it is using battery. Dim the screen a bit, and always turn it off when not in use, and it can last for a bit.

I had HTC's before and never again. They just keep churning them out because they are all ****e. Samsung looks to big.

Still around £500 for new one, just looked and you can have one free on vodafone with 600 mins, 1GB and unlimited texts for £36 plus vat so that would but £43. That is my price plan but getting it for £15 a month now. Just done some sums and shelling out for it would save about £250 so might stay a free lone ranger. Hang on that is a iPhone 4, iPhone 4S £66 an month thought that was cheap. So will be quids in over the 2 years buying one. Feel a bit happier about that now. Getting the bathroom paid of the card and then I'm getting one and don't have to feel like I'm not one of the cool kids anymore

See, there's no way on gods earth you can get deals like that here mate.

It's improved a lot since I got here (only last June), but it's still a million miles behind UK.

Could you not have got the phone in the UK and then got a SIM only deal?

I brought a 4 over with me, but as i'm an arsey twat, I wanted a 4s on release day.

So, summing up, I can't really whinge about it.

The 4s is noticeably better than the 4, no matter what anyone says (bar the battery life issue).

So I take it Apple can expect your custom on the release day of the oft rumoured never to be seen iPhone 5 then? I'm definitely more of a wait for the price to come down kind of guy, I blame me dad!

To be honest, probs not this time mate, my phone is scratched to ****, I put it down to dry air/sand etc, so going forward i'll not be paying top whack for one.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of it is self inflicted, I hoy them in my pocket with car keys and coins etc, but it seems a whole heap worse here.

If the 5 is 'blow you away' different, maybe.
