98% pipe dream but anyone interested in this lad? French right-back, plays regularly for Lille and, imo, one of the best players on the pitch (performance-wise) against England. He's still young too so would be a good replacement for Sagna. Throw in the French factor and he may be keen on joining us. Make no mistake, I love Sagna and think he's great. He will, however, miss the start of the season and there's no guarantee he'll be the player he was when he comes back - 2 leg breaks in a year is hard to come back from. Added to which he definitely lost a bit of his edge after his first break this season gone. If we want a decent team then we need quality competition in all positions and I really think Debuchy would fit the bill. Downsides - Cost/Would he be willing to battle Sagna for a 1st team place/Lille fooking hate us!
If we intend to challenge then we need a proper replacement for Sagna's abscence. Will Jenkinson be good enough? Will Coqs be good enough to fill in? Also on the dreaded question of Sanga's recovery from his second leg break, is this going to significantly affect his performance when he's back? These are questions the Arsenal Administration must address.
Why are you all worried about a right back option? According to OXOCUBE, we have the white Cafu in Jenkinson. .
