Hulk - who plays in the Portuguese league and is hyped beyond belief and has done NOTHING against any English team he has ever played against ?? Mario Jardel was the European Golden Boot winner 5 times and he too dominated scoring at Porto.

Stats tell half the story, you CANNOT base your argument on stats alone, thats folly. Podolski is miles better than Hulk.

I would much rather have Podolski than Hulk.

    I'd have them both.
Then a 5 minute *** break before having them both again :)

Hasn't Hulk also spent a large part of career in Japan? while Podolski has been at a top league for most of career, this again would show that you cant just look at a players stats.

Well time will tell when both debut in the Premiership next season. Firstly, the Pod is an immediate starter for us, but where he starts depends on RVP staying. Either way i can see the Pod get atleast 10-15 goals and a bunch of assists. He will be one of the star players in the premiership next season. He is tailorman for our formation and style of play.

As for Hulk, will he be a guaranteed starter over Torres? Not that Torres has lit the Premiership world on fire this season but will Di Matteo start with him? Will he play both of them? Either way it will take some adjusting for Hulk, as Chelsea isn't an easy team to play for...

Lol, that's your only viewpoint? The fact that he plays for Porto makes him worthless? LOL! Maybe check out the jobs he's done against other European clubs like Spartak Moscow and Villareal, and for, I don't know ... the Brazilian national team too, before talking crap.

You also can't ignore stats just because you want to. Like how Podolski only looks great at club level when he's in an underdog team that they build around him (exactly like Andy Carroll when he was at Newcastle, and hell, Demba Ba at Newcastle right now). What happened exactly when he moved to Bayern, a top club? He became almost completely anonymous, as his 15 goals in 71 apps proves. They shifted him back to his old club because he was so bad there ... remind you of anyone who played on the left? Someone Russian?

We'll see what happens, let's just say I don't have high hopes for Podolski.

    Me talking crap <laugh>

Oh yeah .. the heavyweights of European football <laugh>

Lets check these great stats for Brazil shall we: 3 goals in 12 appearances <doh>

Contrast that to Podolski: 43 goals in 98 appearances ... and he is still only 27.

Glad you can laugh about it finally <ok>

But I agree that Podolski looks a better prospect than Hulk. I think he'll be better suited to the premier league too.

We'll see next season I guess, but you pretty much safely say now that there is not a £28m gap between them. Chelsea have been mugged off again.

It all depends on which player adapts quicker for which team, as both are quality players. In my opinion, the Pod will adapt quite easily to our front three system. He has all the attibutes to succeed and will be another Pires for us. But i will stress again, this all depends on whether RVP stays or not. If he goes, the Pod will be less effective as we won't know who will play CF. The Hulk will find things a lot harder than Pod, the same as other players have struggled to adjust, well straight away.....

There are far more similarities between the German and English league than the Portuguese and English league.

The words Hulk and Overrated go hand in hand.

Hulk's certainly not a bad player...I'm confident he'll do well in the prem as he has a lot of technical ability and he's not exactly lightweight so he'll be able to stand playing rougher teams like Stoke. Podolski's a little more worrying in that he can go missing in some games as shown from his Bayern days, which I hope he doesn't replicate at Arsenal. Both are good signings though.

Yes, because your lobotomy comment was straight out of Clive Anderson's "top drawer of wit" !

Beaver poo was on your level of intellect, something earthy and basic <ok>
