Spurs outcast linked with a move to QPR The Premier League Owl Bad haircut, and an even worse personality. David Bentleyâs career should be studied by the young players in academies, because itâs a cautionary tale as to what happens when talent isnât accompanied by hard-work â and when a player starts listening to the media and believing himself to be better than he really is. The Fulham & Hammersmith Chronicle is reporting that Bentley is eager to move across London to Loftus Road, and rejoin Mark Hughes â the only manager who has ever managed to get the best out of the winger. This is one of those situations where it would suit both parties just to get this done â as long as Harry Redknapp is Tottenham manager, Bentley wonât be playing regular football. Heâs still only 27 too, so thereâs theoretically some mileage left in him. If thereâs some truth to this rumour, then the caveat to QPRâs fans should be over Bentleyâs attitude and his perennial lack of application. No matter how far heâs fallen, heâll seemingly never understand the importance of working hard. If he moves to Loftus Road, heâll presumably give two or three performances and then sink into the squad â never to be heard of again. Itâs a pattern with Bentley. If Mark Hughes gives him a chance, itâs one Bentley has to take â because the next stop is either the Championship or the MLS.
is this someone we should give a chance to we gave barton a chance and look at how thats been repaid whats the latest on his punch up by the way
There's only one response to any thread mentioning Outcast.... sorry Ms Jackson. How to placate your mother-in-law? Easy, just dedicate a song to her!
We can, and should, do much better than this. It could be a master stroke by Hughes, of course, but I will not be holding my breath.
Where exactly would he play. We have plenty of choice on right wing with Jamie Mackie and SWP. Don't think taking a punt on Bentley has any point. Agents creating interest again I would say. Seems like a pattern is emerging and QPR will be linked to every two bob player looking for a move this summer.
Bentley is all about unfulfilled potential. The press made him into the next David Beckham which he never was. Personally I don't like wingers without pace and he doesn't have pace, MH may see him as a creative central middle fielder but unless MH sees something I don't then I would say a no go.
I'd really like to see us sign him. He'd be just the right sort of player to pull on the jersey, and we desperately need someone of his caliber at the club. Can't wait to see him flying down the wing and putting some great crosses in for Ching to head home Oh, hang on, this is the QPR forum, not Houston Dynamo's forum. Never mind then, I'll pass.
