Looks like today's racing hasn't caught the eye of anybody and i am short of ideas myself... So its an all out assault on the footy and the golf for me this week... Just doing my homework for what looks a very tricky US Open on thursday and trying to find a half decent bet on the footy...

4-1 to England, Gerrard 1st goal scorer... 500/1... Dont think im being to unreasonable with that am i...<laugh><laugh>

No I haven't Oddy. Apart from visitors no-one would see it.

But Amanda is going to watch the match in a pub in Saint Lo and she'll be waving the flag.

Incidentally, I acquired a new grand daughter last night.

Actually, that team doesn't look too bad. A bit of pace there.

    Congratulations, Ron! <bubbly>

    RV: Hear, hear! <ok>

Have a small fancy today for a modest sporting bet:

14:30 Newton Abbot - Henry The First

Has done very little to date but could have a squeak in this weak-looking affair? Breeding on sire's side would suggest the soft going should be OK, but on the dam's side not so, I'm afraid. Will be some real slogs at NA today.......

    GL all! <ok>

Right, lets see if my racing brain is working.

Just got onto the PC to find Bookiesindex Boy beaten by a length. I suggest that he traded long odds on. Anyone got the figures?

Does anyone have a view on the first at Pontefract ? A D.Wachman horse is contesting it which should itself be a tip but it's strangely on the drift. I am unsure if i should steam into the 3's or just watch and wonder how it went off tha price afterwards.

Why would he, jockey and horse travel to Ponty for a class 5 maiden?

    6.00 Roscommon

    Orafinitis 25/1

Only worth a small bet but she's far too well handicapped to leave alone. Desmond McDonogh's 4 year old filly gets in hear off a mark of just 48, and she is now 8lb below her sole win to date on good to firm ground at Gowran Park last year. Soft ground isn't ideal for her either but with her trainer getting off the cold list recently and with excellent son Declan on board I'm taking a chance that she can bounce back and put in a good showing today. I think she has the ability to be a 70ish rated horse but she has been very disappointing in her career to date after an excellent debut finishing 5L behind Misty For Me. Could easily finished tailed off but just too big at 25/1 to leave unbacked.

KEENE'S POINT 28-1 6.10 Windsor has attracted support all afternoon. Hails from a very shrewd yard and Totesport's 28-1 is twice what is on offer with most other firms.

Also had a very minor EW saver on ITS ONLY BUSINESS as no Bill Turner juvenile should ever be 66-1

Wells Lyrical has been gambled all day and looks like a stable plot, PH on board and drifted out to 7/1 earlier now backed back in, worth a shout
