I have just bought a new laptop and want to download some software to be able to watch football games on-line. Which is the best that won't break the PC.?

    Somebody said sopcast was good

Aye sopcast is generally fairly reliable Scatty.
Download & install the very latest version, they release new ones on a fairly regular basis.

    Once you've done that use either of these;

    http://www.wiziwig.tv/competition.php?discipline=football&part=sports
    http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/index.html

Now the best sopcast streams generally come from bloodzeed but Setanta Canada & White Rat are quite good & Yes is very good.

The Wiziwig site is excellent as it gives you the kbps speed. Basically, the higher it is, the better the stream.

They also give you the commentary language too.

Sometimes sopcast can take a little longer for the channel to buffer so start it off about five minutes before kick off.

I watch almost all the away game from there. Mind you sometimes sopcast wont have a stream up & you have to put up with one of the poorer browser streams.
Sometimes those ones are so bad that they're not worth watching. If that's the case I just use the radio.

One other thing, if you can't get a stream in English & you turn the sound down & put the radio on be warned. The radio is literally about three minutes ahead of the stream.
So if anyone scores, you'll know well before you see it.

Hope that is of some use.

Thanks for all your help. I used to watch on my old laptop but it would freeze every 5 seconds. Then every time I tried to click on one to watch I would get a popup saying I had won an IPad. Could not get rid of it. So settled for the radio instead.

Wishing it was next season already....

If sopcast doesn't work for any particular games and you use firstrow like Syd suggested, then it might be an idea to download and install a pop up blocker for your browser (just google pop up blocker)...It might not stop the ads popping up, but it'll stop them playing, which means no annoying sound!

I used to use Sopcast and several other sites, but got fed up with the screen freezing. So bit the bullet and went for a pay view website. Best thing I have done for a long time. I watch Cricket. any football I like, World championship boxing, Aussie rules, cage fighting, F1, anything sport. and in HD quality. And that costs me £19.99 per six months. Can watch from anywhere in the world.

The website is part of FOX media.
