Thought the Russkis looked pretty good yesterday. Quick on the counter and their passing was very sharp at times, especially Arshavin's. Could be a good outside bet if they carry on like this and they remind me a bit of the Germans at the last WC.

One game doesn't a tournament winner make but I agree they looked very slick and have a wise old owl as coach in Dicky Snowball.

I'd like to see them up against better opposition (thought the Czechs were pitiful at times) but they will have to be given plenty of respect and will probably qualify for the knockout stages now.

Out of interest, where was that Arshavin lad for Arsenal last year? The ball for the 2nd goal (think it was the 2nd) was simply the pass of the tournament already and he was sensational. I suppose it reinforces the danger of signing tournament stars and thinking they will be able to replicate it in the EPL.

I also thought Pavs goal was absolute class too. He would have been a really good signing for us last summer imo instead of Bendtner, who we will see later today of course.

Arshavin was at Zenit I think. They won the Russian title this year I think. Agree the Czechs weren't great, but they were taken apart by some fantastic passing.

I thought Arshavin looked back to his best too. Arshavin never liked London and now he is back in Russia he has regained his confidence, and it showed.
