On the day we have signed a high profile manager with the experience and respect in the game to give us a good crack at promotion we should spare a thought for our unfortunate brethren in the west. Taking a look at their forum it sounds like Master Bates might just be about to preside over the melt-down of their club with talk of relegation being seriously contemplated. It just makes you appreciate how minor our issues have been lately by comparison. We just missed the play-offs, none of our players have suggested they want to leave and now it sounds like Bruce will have the money to make the last few signings we need to complete the job. Personally I don't wish the worst for Leeds. It will be bad enough for them in ten years time when there are more black and amber replica shirts around Leeds than white ones.
What's gone on? I've been neck deep in exams recently and haven't really been reading anything other than SQL.
Well losing Robert Snodgrass to Hull City would add to TWS woes a little. I only think about Leeds when they have a game and hope the result goes against them.
I am not going to get dragged into a long drawn argument but... I cannot believe Hull fans are pleased with the appointment of Steve Bruce, I would be mortified, how can anyone honestly rate his ability?
He's a ex Premier League manager with loads of Promotions under his belt, yeah, I'm ****ing mortified to have that prick in charge of my team
It's mainly because the alternatives were Megson, Blackwell, Clark, or some unknown lower league candidate.
Each to their own I guess. I can't be bothered to look through my old posts but please feel free to search them yourselves and you will see my negative reaction when Bruce was mentioned as a replacement for Grayson. Loads of promotions? LOL If he becomes available yes it would have been a good move but agree, waiting might have been a gamble that didn't pay off.
I've posted Bruce's record since 1998 in another thread. Do some research. His last two seasons in the Championship he got his team promoted, and the rest of the last 10 years have been spent in the middle of the premiership. These are things both Hull and Leeds can only dream of now.
As much as that would annoy Leeds fans and be very amusing, I really wouldn't want Snodgrass playing for us. He only stands out because of what's around him and he was disgusting (along with a few others) when we played them. Him, Becchio and the like, hitting the deck like they'd been shot and whinging to the ref every time a decision doesn't go their way (in fact, thinking about it, he seems like a perfect fit for Leeds, no wonder he does so well there ...)
I think we should be friends. I can't stand Snodgrass, he's talented but he's ****ing obsessed with shoulder barges, sly digs and generally playing the most physical way possible. I hate players like that but when it's a skillful winger it pisses me off even more, he shouldn't need to do it. On top of that as you say he's always hitting the bloody deck and then incredibly whenever something goes against him he's crying in the ref's face and waving his arms about.
Why does that description remind me of Ash? Not the diving bit, but the physical bit? Deano was quite physical too...
Ash was hard in the tackle but was never just a plain cheat like Snodgrass. He never did the sly digs or any of that nonsense. If he wanted to give someone a clout he'd just do it and get sent off like a man Snodgrass is a coward, every time a long ball goes to him he wins it unchallenged as he's already put his marker is on the floor while the ball was in the air, he's just always cheating and then has the cheek to be all over the ref when anything goes against him, when it's people like him that make refereeing difficult! I hate the guy I really do
