Lets hope he was tweeting yesterday because he knew it would be anounced as soon as Warnock got back. Warnock however may have contacted him to tell him he was leaving

Do you really want him to sign? I want signings as much as the next bloke but not just for the sake of it, we have a better keeper in Lonners already

Seems it is a matter of opinion from what I can see fans are 50/50 as to who is the better keeper. I agree it isn't a stunning capture but if he is as good or better than Lonners and we profit from a sale that gets used for new players all good. Too many 'ifs' I know but until he screws up we have to trust the manager.

If we're struggling to get player in why go for a GK we don't need?

Only answer I can think of is to sell Lonners and use the 'profit' in other areas.

I am finding it as hard as anyone else to remain positive however - Many of those we are putting down as 'fails' are players signing new contracts with their clubs and remaining in the Premiership, there is nothing we (as a club) can do about that.

Isn't everyone forgetting we only have one senior goalkeeper at the club? We kind of need a keeper.

Why do we need a new keeper at all with the likes of Billy Paynter on the bench?!? The man would be ideal between the sticks but hasn't been utilised. The lad is as big as the goal and whenever he's around, the ball ends up nowhere near the net. Should never have been transfer listed... :(

But why go for someone like Kenny?

Likely to be on a good wage and probably coming out of the 'peak' of his career.

Im a big fan of Paddy Kenny and would be sorry to see him leave QPR as he would still be my No 1 in goal. He makes few mistakes in my opinion and has been outstanding in the last couple of seasons for us. Im sure it will only be a few games before Leeds fans take to him if he arrives at Elland Road.

No doubt Paddy Kenny would be a good buy, and he would be able to return to Yorkshire, and team up with Warnock, so a win-win.

But if I was to prioritise what we needed, it would not be a goalkeeper. The one area where you can be light and at any time during the season you can get an emergency in quickly and easily is the goalkeeper position.

Unless we are going to recoup the exact same money as a minimum by selling Lonergan, there are other priority positions to fill.

If you only have a few pennies to spend, you don't waste them on luxury items.

    Paddys just tweeted this

Anyone fancies a jog with me in 35 degree heat I'm I bloody mad or what? #gottobedone #dontknowwhatshappening #whenigetback

Wonder why he would tweet that? Do you think he has had his head turned? DO you think Warnock has spoken to him & its a matter of freeing up funds?

Really can't see the pint of Kenny coming in. Lonners is quite good enough & Kenny wouldn't come here to be No. 2. We have Cairns as No. 2 should Lonners get injured. Better to concentrate efforts to bring in players in those areas where we know we need strengthening.

Cairns will stay as a number two being the cheaper option and will get some bench time as Warnock can name more subs this season, Paddy will come in if we can sell Lonners for more than Kenny will cost.

    All opinion of course <ok>

Yea but I think Lonners is better and is about to enter the 'peak' of his career. Cairns is fine to be No. 2 so this is just something to make it seem like the club are looking for targets

This means that there is no need for Kenny unless Warnock genuinely believes that hes a much better keeper

The future of Leeds United target Paddy Kenny is expected to be finally resolved shortly – with the keeper returning from holiday today.

The Halifax-born stopper, known to be keen on a switch back to Yorkshire with Leeds, tweeted yesterday: “Back home tomorrow (Thursday) and ready for it now and loads of stuff to get sorted.”

A fee of £300,000 has been mentioned for Kenny - although it’s understood that could be wide of the mark with Rangers likely to seek around £500,000 for his services.
